SEASON OUTLOOK
The Longhorns were the team to beat in 2016 with an overall record of 16-4 and 9-2 in the GWAC. University of Kansas commit Conner VanCleave led the charge in 2016 earning 4AII Player of the Year. Holcomb looks to be impressive again this year as they return 8 starters from the 2016 campaign.

With the new pitch count rules taking place, the Longhorns will be looking for several pitchers to step up including Brayden Goddard who posted a 3.00 ERA in 2016. Brandon Stegman will look to have repeat performance after posting a .483 batting average last spring. The Longhorns are hopeful for a postseason run in 2017 and will be looking for strong performances from Alex Ortega, Chance Rodriguez, AJ Ortega, Kaden Tichenor, and Braden Rupp to do so.
