Kansas Underclass Games: 2019 Right Handed Pitchers Analysis

Prep Baseball Report Kansas held the Kansas Underclass Games at Wichita State on June 20.  Nearly 60 players from around Missouri in Kansas participated.  The players attending were in the 2019 and 2020 classes. 

Players profiles have been updated with times, velocities, videos and player profiles.  In the days to come we will break down the event position by position, taking a inside look at the 2019 right-handed pitchers today. Players listed below are in alphabetical order

2019 Right-Handed Pitchers

Mark Adamiak RHP / Shawnee Mission Northwest, KS / 2019

Adamiak is a 6-foot-4 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Adamiak has an aggressive delivery, long and lean frame, quick arm speed, slight rotation at balance point, over the top release, fastball works 82-86 mph, breaking ball has cutting action, 10-to-4 break, 63-64 mph, swing and miss pitch, change up at 76-78 mph, slight arm side release. 

Tobias Becker C / Rock Creek, KS / 2019

Baker is a 6-foot-3 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Becker’s fastball works 72-74 mph, comes from a high three quarters release, short arm circle, strong bodied, slightly across body, has some deception on arm slot and direction, hides ball, will work both sides of plate, breaking ball has 11-to-5 action, late action, 64-65 mph.

Hayden Bontrager RHP / Maize South, KS / 2019

Bontrager is a 6-foot-4 155-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Bontrager has a highly projectable frame with long levers, loose and easy arm action would suggest consistent veto increase as he continues to develop, showed fastball and curveball in game action, has command of both pitches, throws strikes, fastball at 73-75 mph, breaking ball has 11-to-5 action, 61-62 mph, some sharpness, throws with regular effort, release out front, simple and repeatable delivery.

Caleb Casanova SS / Logan-Rogersville, MO / 2019

Casanova is a 5-foot-6 140-pound right-handed pitcher in Missouri’s 2019 class. Casanova has a short and compact delivery, over the top release, repeatable, quick and loose arm action, slight open at end of stride, fastball a 74-76 mph, straight, curveball 61-63 mph, 12-to-6 shape, change up 68-69 mph, slight arm side release.

Braden Geer RHP / Rose Hill , KS / 2019

Geer is a 6-foot-4 176-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Geez comes from an over the top release point, long arm circle, long levers, in line stride, throws with regular effort, occasional late run on fastball, fastball works 72-75 mph, slight 11-to-5 action on breaking ball, 64-66 mph, late fading action on change up, 69-70 mph.

Quinton Hall OF / Mill Valley , KS / 2019

Hall is a 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class, recently committed to Wichita State. Hall has an athletic delivery, strong bodied, over the top release, challenges hitters throws strike, simple and repeatable delivery, works downhill, fastball was 84-86 mph, some with late run, commands both sides of the plate, curveball at 70-71 mph, late 11-to-5 break, throws change up a with fastball arm speed, 77-78 mph, arm side release. 

William Hann RHP / Olathe North , KS / 2019

Hann is a 6-foot 183-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Hann has an athletic delivery with loose arm action, high three quarters arm slot, projectable and strong frame, slight rotation at balance point, in line stride, fastball as late run, 76-82 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, throws with fastball arm speed, gradual break, 67-68, showed a spitter with some sink at 63-65 mph.

Jordan Jackson RHP / Washburn Rural, KS / 2019

Jackson is a 6-foot-3 10-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Jackson topped at 84 mph with fastball, worked 78-84 mph, strong bodied with arm strength, over the top release, controlled delivery, in line down the mound, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, bottom of the zone, downward action, good pitch, change up at 69-70 mph, fastball arm speed, high number of strikes, did produce some swing and miss.

Brett Kennett SS / Olathe South , KS / 2019

Kennett is a 6-foot-3 165-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Kennett creates in line direction towards the plate, high three quarters release, throws with regular effort, arm works, projectable frame, fastball at 75-78 mph, breaking ball has 12-to-6 action, 64-65 mph, change up thrown with near fastball arm speed, 70-71 mph, late sinking action, commands both sides of the plate, high number of strikes.

David Kephart RHP / Blue Valley Northwest, KS / 2019

Kephart is a 6-foot-5 190-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Kephart works downhill, quick and short arm circle, over the top release, fastball at 77-81 mph, some with two-seam action, has tilt to bottom of zone, breaking ball has 11-to-5 shape, occasional late break, looks to be a good pitch as he continues to throw, has feel for change up, 69-70 mph,

Ryan Knipfer RHP / Derby , KS / 2019

Knipfer is a 5-foot-10 195-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class.  Knipfer has a simple in line delivery, easy over the top release, fastball has some downhill action, repeats delivery, athletic finish, 67-72 mph, bottom of the zone, stays on top of a breaking ball,12-to-6 shape, 61-62 mph, throws for strike.

Thane McDaniel RHP / Junction City , KS / 2019

McDaniel is a 6-foot-1 185-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. McDaniel is a strike thrower, challenges hitters with two pitches, repeats delivery and releases both pitches at same release point, stays in line down the mound, hides the ball well, hitter don’t see ball until release, slight rotation at balance point, quick over the top arm slot, fastball has two-seam action, 83-86 mph, running action, breaking ball has sharp 71-72 mph action, late break, advance pitch, produces swing and miss.

Jayden Pierce RHP / Eudora , KS / 2019

Pierce is a 6-foot-4 215-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas’ 2019 class. Pierce’s fastball works 76-77 mph, touches 80 mph, over the top release, has some downhill tilt, arm works, body stays under control during delivery, slight rotation at balance point, in line down the mound, athletic finish, breaking ball has occasional sharpness, 11-to-5 action, 70-71 mph, change up at 62-63 mph, some with arm side release and depth, works bottom of zone with all pitches, heavy ball.

Matthew Ronnebaum RHP / Blue Valley West, KS / 2019

Ronnebauam is a 6-foot-2 170-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Ronnebaum has a lean build, arm works, hands work over the head in wind up, slight rotation at balance pint, in line down the mound, release out front, rotation at balance point, repeats delivery, fastball at 79-84 mph, some with late run, breaking ball at 68-69 mph, has tight spin, throws down in the zone, swing and miss pitch, 68-69 mph,

Brandon Ryan RHP / Olathe South, KS / 2019

Ryan is a 6-foot-1 200-pound right-handed pitcher in Kansas 2019 class. Ryan throws with regular effort, over the top release, controlled leg lift, slight coil at balance point, accelerates down the mound, fastball was 80-82 mph, curveball has 12-to-6 action, down in zone, some with late break, 66.68 mph, throws both pitches for a strike, repeats delivery,
