Player Spotlight: C Dalton Dinkel (Goddard Eisenhower, 2016)

Dalton Dinkel (Goddard Eisenhower, 2016) is a 6-foot 170-pound right-handed hitting catcher, with a best recorded pop time of 1.82. He was selected to First-Team All-AVCTL-II in 2015 and was named KABC 5A All-State Second-Team in 2014.  Dinkel also represented Kansas in the PBR Future Games in August of 2014.

At the plate, Dinkel has a smooth hand load, and a short, quiet stride. His hands work, with a fast bat, and finishes with extension. He has an 89 mph exit velocity runs a 4.34 home-to-first, with a 7.36 60 time.  Behind the plate he showed quick, athletic footwork and exchanges. Loose three-quarters arm action, throws had carry, and a 76 mph throwing velocity.  He makes one accurate throw after another.

Recently, Dinkel attended the Class of 2016 Games in Emporia and attending college visits.  Here is a look at wat Dinkel has going on. 

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Dinkel: No, not necessarily, would like to major in communications.

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do? Name some players that will play a key role for your team in 2016.

Dinkel: Junior year I hit .466, 5A All State, ACTVL 1st team Catcher. Lost to Liberal in regional game. Braden Minor, Brett Huelsmann , And nick Henning will be big factors.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

Dinkel: Win state, win our league and commit to a college.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Dinkel: Wichita Arsenal, yes

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Dinkel: No

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Dinkel: I have a 20 ACT and 3.3 GPA.
