Player Spotlight: RHP Jonathan McIntyre (Maize, 2017)

Jonathan McIntyre (Maize) is a 6-foot-3 175-pound right-handed pitcher.

He recently attended the PBR Border Battle in Council Bluffs, Iowa, where he was up to 87 mph.  He is long-legged with a projectable frame.  He has an over the top release with loose arm action and shows the ability to repeat his delivery.  His fastball has some sinking action and breaking ball shows 12-to-6 action at 70-73 mph.  His change up as sink at 77-79 mph.

Currently, McIntyre is playing for Wichita Sluggers and preparing for basketball and his senior baseball season. Here a look into the recruiting process for Jonathan McIntyre.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

McIntyre: Nothing really to specific, just somewhere that I fit

PBR: How did you do your junior year? What were your high school statistics? And how did your team do?

McIntyre: I had a 3.42 ERA, with 1 win and 3 saves. My team finished 3rd in state. Summer went better where I went 6-0 and a 1.63 ERA and got to start a game at the NBC tournament at Lawrence-Dumont where I pitched the first 4 innings scoreless and then gave up 2 earned runs in the 5th against the Missouri Kapaha's.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season?

McIntyre: My personal goal is to be a leader this year on and off the field which will really help our team goal of winning state.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

McIntyre: I play for the Wichita Sluggers for summer and fall.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

McIntyre: I play Basketball

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

McIntyre: My ACT score is 25 and my GPA is 3.67
