As we prepare for the upcoming 2015 high school season, we will be taking a preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

TOP PLAYERS (Coach’s Comments)

Ross Thompson, 2015 RHP, 6-3, 175. 2014 stats: 5-5, 1.47 ERA, 53 IP, 75 K. Fastball 80-81 and has really developed a good curve ball.  Has become his best pitch.  Fastball isn't going to overpower but he does a good job locating. Ross earned All-District honors and pitched in the KHSBCA East-West All Star Game. Ross plays for the Bluegrass Stars summer team coached by Tommy Brooks

NOTABLE LOSSES

Alex Davidson.  Alex is a junior and was a utility guy for our team last season and this past August, he was diagnosed with a brain tumor.  Unfortunately, Alex will not be able to be a part of team this year and the players are dedicating this season to him.

According to the Coach

Hart County returns every starter and every pitcher that threw an inning last season.  Our team's strength should be the experience.  The team will have 8 seniors this year and all have played a significant amount of time the past couple seasons.  We struggled defensively last year and that needs to be shored up in order for us to compete for a district championship as we expect to compete for the 18th district championship this year.  Elizabethtown and Central Hardin look to be the clear cut favorites for the region championship and we are not to their level yet. Hart Co. defeated Larue Co. in the district tournament to make the regional tournament for the first time since 2007, losing 4-1 to Adair County.
