Here we go again.  Call it the PBR curse, parity, or whatever else you want to call it.

Fresh off of being ranked in the No. 1 spot for the second time this season, Tates Creek fell to No. 12 Lexington Catholic 9-2.  It marks the fourth straight week the No. 1 team in the Power 25 has lost, and each time it has been multiple losses, so the Commodores will have to rebound quickly in their game with No. 2 Dunbar this evening to break that trend.

Here is a look at scores and highlights from all the action around the state last evening.

#12 Lexington Catholic 9, #1 Tates Creek 2
CJ Bush went 2-for-3, Taylor Henley doubled and drove in 2 runs, and Ben Wilhite tripled and drove in 2 runs, as well, as Lexington Catholic knocked off #1 Tates Creek.  Griffin Neuer scattered 5 hits and struck out 7 in going the distance in the complete game victory.

#7 Beechwood 11, Holy Cross (Covington) 0

#8 Ballard 9, KCD 0
Jay Poullard went 3-for-5 with 2 RBI, Nick Nonos homered and drove in 2 runs, and Jordan Adell added a 2-run double in the Ballard win.  Winning pitcher Jack Dillon fired a complete game, 1-hit shutout with 5 K’s.

#11 Henderson Co 2, Christian Co 0
Tyler Roberts doubled, and Clay Church pitched a complete game, 3-hit shutout with 11 K’s to lead Henderson County to the win.

#13 Bourbon County 4, Montgomery County 0
Jaxson Hilander went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and scored 2 runs, Tyler Bretz went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, and Ben Schanding went 2-for-3 with a RBI as Bourbon County moved to 12-1 on the season.  Kaven Brown  scattered 6 hits and struck out 13 in the complete game shutout.

Bryan Station 9, #14 Scott County 7

#17 Danville 7, Somerset 3
John Roney went 2-for-2 with a double and RBI, Robert Rowland added 2 hits and drove in a run, and Mason Stamm doubled home 2 runs in the Danville win.  Winning pitcher Nick Serey allowed 3 earned runs in going the distance.

#19 DeSales 11,Bethlehem 1
DeSales scored 7 runs in the 5th to break open a close game.  Daniel Breedlove went 3-for-5 with a RBI, Zach Reddington went 2-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Joey Hollingsworth added 2 hits and a RBI, and Alec Brothers collected 2 hits and drove in a run.  Reddington struck out 6 and allowed 1 earned run in his 6 innings of work for the win.

#21 Dixie Heights 5, Highlands 4 (8 Innings)
Ethan Harrison, Nick King, and Nick Niehaus each collected 2 hits apiece, and Matthew Wehrle pitched 3 scoreless innings in relief to pick up the win. 

#23 South Laurel 4, Whitley Co 0
Daniel Neal fired a complete game, 5-hit shutout with 9 strikeouts to lead South Laurel to the win.

#24 South Oldham 1, North Oldham 0
South Oldham scored an unearned run against North Oldham starter Ethan Cleary in the 2nd and made it stand for the victory.  Drew Lively scattered 4 hits in pitching a complete game shutout for the win.  Cleary was the hard-luck losing pitcher, allowing just 3 hits with 10 strikeouts in his 7 innings of work.

Corbin 12, Williamsburg 0
Taylor Combs went 3-for-5 with a double and RBI and fired a complete game, 3-hit shutout to lead Corbin to the win.  Nick Vorbeck went 2-for-4 with a double and 3 RBI, Corey Ledington addd 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Andrew Jones collected 2 hits and drove in a run in the winning effort.

Allen Central 10, Prestonsburg 9
Brian Handshoe went 4-for-4 with a triple, Dustin Johnson went 2-for-4 with a double and 4 RBI, and Trey Aldrich and Tanner Hamilton each added 2 hits and 2 RBI in the Allen Central victory.  Handshoe allowed 1 earned run and struck out 6 in 4 innings of relief to pick up the win.

Madison Central 6, LCA 5 (9 Innings)
Josh Wright went 2-for-3 with 2 RBI, Jeremy Lakes added 2 hits, and Seth Richardson drove in 2 runs as Madison Central plated 2 runs in the bottom of the 9th for the win. 

Grayson Co 3, Edmonson Co 2
Joseph Anthony went 2-for-3 with 2 doubles and a RBI, and Jordan Turner added 2 hits as Grayson County held off a late rally by Edmonson County.  Anthony tossed 5.1 innings, allowing 6 hits and 1 earned run to pick up the win.

Greenwood 7, South Warren 3
Nick Sanders went 2-for-3 with 3 RBI, Noah Edmonson stroked 2 doubles, and Bryce Spalding homered in the Greenwood win.  Sanders scattered 4 hits over 6 innings of work to record the win for Greenwood.

Greenup County 7, Ironton OH 1
JT Boggs and Korey Morris both tripled, and Jesse Hall added an RBI double in the Greenup County victory.  Zach Hayden struck out 4 and allowed 1 earned run in 3 innings of work to pick up the win.

Western Hills 5, Woodford County 0
Kyle Stevens went 3-for-4 with a RBI, and Jesse Howard drove in 2 runs as Western Hills shutout Woodford County.  Stevens allowed 3 hits in going the distance for the for the complete game shutout.

Campbellsville 3, Taylor County 0
Zach Durham went 2-for-3 with a RBI, and Chase Thomas added an RBI double as Campbellsville handed Taylor County its first loss of the season.  Austin Hash scattered 4 hits and struck out 4 in the complete game shutout.

St. Mary 6, Murray 2
Ben Hopper went 2-for-3, and Brian Johnson added a double and scored 2 runs in the victory.  Nick Eggemeyer struck out 5 and allowed 1 earned run in 4 innings of work to pick up the win.  Austin Shaw pitched 3 scoreless innings of relief to earn the save.

Simon Kenton 10, Campbell County 0
Grant Wassom went 3-for-5 with 2 doubles and 3 RBI, and Tyler Smith went 2-for-5 with a triple and 2 RBI as Simon Kenton routed Campbell County.  Robert Smith fired a complete game, 4-hit shutout with 5 strikeouts for the win.

Caldwell County 3, Crittenden County 0
Eli Pepper went 3-for-4 and scored 2 runs, and Landon Burns added 2 hits in the victory.  Elijah Sindelar fired a complete game, 2-hit shutout with 12 K’s to pick up the win.

Boyd County 6, Ashland Blazer 2 (9 Innings)
Brock Damron went 2-for-5 with a double and 2 RBI, and Dylan Grimm added 3 RBI in the Boyd County victory.  Jacob Barnwell picked up the win in relief, striking out 11 in 4 shutout innings.

Henry Clay 6, Sayre 4
Wyatt Terrell went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles and a RBI, and Taylor Dunbar allowd 3 hits and no earned runs over 5.1 innings to pick up the win.

Franklin County 10, Frankfort 0
Matthew Lee went 3-for-3 with a double and 2 RBI, Ryan Staples added 3 hits and drove in 2 runs, and Dawson Willis went 2-for-3 with a double and RBI for Franklin County.  Quenton Brownlee threw a 5-inning complete game, 1-hit shutout with 10 K’s.

Logan County 16, Todd County Central 2
Ian Woodall went 4-for-5 with a grand slam HR and 4 RBI, Caleb Bruner hit a 3-run homer, and Michael Riley added 3 hits and 3 RBI in the Logan County rout.  Bruner went the distance (5 Inn), allowing 3 hits and 1 earned run while striking out 11.

Conner 5, Scott 3
Cameron Ross and Dalton Harshbarger each collected 2 hits, and Ryan Ward drove in 2 runs in the winning effort.  Ryan Gosney pitched 5 strong innings, allowing 5 hits and 1 earned run to pick up the win.
