A couple of upsets in the Power 25 last evening as South Laurel, Hazard, and Apollo all lost.  Here are the scores and highlights from around the state.

(No.3) PRP 5  Holy Cross 4
Alex Miller hit a 2-run home run and Ryan Hart added 2 hits as PRP survived a scare from Holy Cross.

Pulaski County 9  (No.14) South Laurel 2

Letcher County Central 13  (No.17) Hazard 3
Jordan Short went 3-4 and scored 4 runs.  Max Hall allowed 3 earned runs over 5 innings with 6 K’s for the win.  Jordan Olinger homered in the Hazard loss.

(No.20) Ryle 3  Dixie Heights 2
Thomas Baumann and Tyler Mason ripped back-to-back doubles in the 7th inning to propel Ryle to the win. 

Hopkinsville 3  (No.22) Apollo 2

(No.25) Adair County 8  Monroe County 3
Adair County won its 12th game in a row to improve to 16-6 on the season.

Kentucky Country Day 8  Seneca 0
Will Smith continued his torrid hitting, going 2-4 with a home run and RBI, Henry Crockett went 3-4 with a double, triple, and 2 RBI, and Parker James and Zach Lyles each added 2 hits.  Casey Klein fired a complete game 2-hit shutout.

Boyle County 4  Lincoln County 0
Micah Miniard fired a complete game, 2-hit shutout while racking up 13 K’s in the process.  Last week’s KY Player of the Week Casey Whittle continued to produce at the plate blasting a home run and driving in all 4 runs for Boyle County.  Brady Wehmiller was a perfect 4-4 at the plate in the win.

Taylor County 10  Washington County 0 (5 innings)
Blake Caulk went 2-3 with a double and 3 RBI, and Don Dabney went 2-2 with a double and drove in a run for Taylor County.  Dabney was also the winning pitcher, allowing just one hit in going the distance.

DuPont Manual 7  Fern Creek 0
Harrison Scanlon blasted a 3-run home run, and Alec Dunn added 2 hits in the win.  Ben Flanigan fired a complete game shutout  with 8 K’s to record the win.

Bryan Station 5  LCA 4
Kollin Probst went 2-3 with a RBI, and Elijah Burdette tripled in the victory.  Brandon McIntosh worked 5 2/3 innings to pick up the win, and Michael Hall threw a scoreless 7th to earn the save.

Caldwell County 14  Dawson Springs 0 (5 innings)
Elijah Sindelar and Hayden Stewart each collected 3 hits in the win for Caldwell County.  Cody Oden fired a 5-inning no-hitter with 7 K’s in the process.

Valley 9  Southern 6
Jake Richardson went 3-4 with a triple, home run, and 3 RBI, Leighton Scales added a double and triple, and Jared Wales hit a 2-run home run in the win. 

Graves County 3  Mayfield 0
Peyton Puckett went 2-3, and Colton Aldridge and Justin Hayden each doubled and drove in a run in the win.  Hayden scattered 6 hits in going the distance with 11 K’s in the complete game shutout.

Elizabethtown 12  Nelson County 5
Zeke Pinkham went 3-4 with 2 doubles, a home run, and 4 RBI in leading Elizabethtown to victory.  Hunter Sullivan doubled twice and drove in 4 runs in the winning cause.  Cannon Pender worked 6 innings to pick up the win.

Todd County Central 14  Fort Campbell 1 (5 innings)
Cole Hyde went 2-4 with a double and RBI, Loren Lindner added 2 hits and 2 RBI, and Ethan Chester launched a 3-run home run in the win.  Hyde went the distance on the mound, striking out 10 in the process. 

Conner 6  Simon Kenton 0
Austin Brake went 3-4 with a double and RBI, and Brady Padgett went 2-3 with a double, RBI, and 2 runs scored in the win.  Cameron Ross went the distance for the complete game win, scattering 5 hits and striking out 7. 

Caldwell County 10  Dawson Springs 0 (5 innings)
Caldwell County took advantage of 11 walks, and Landon Burns threw a 5-inning no-hitter with 9 K’s. 

Bowling Green 10  South Warren 0 (6 innings)
Seaton Sheldon went 2-3 with a home run and 3 RBI, and Zack Borden went 4-4 and scored 3 runs as Bowling Green cruised to the win.  Tyler Kilgus threw a complete game 3-hit shutout with 5 K’s. 

Madison Central 7  Scott County 2
Jimmy Wright went 2-3 with a double and RBI, and Ben Fisher doubled home 2 runs as the Indians used a 6-run 6th inning to break open a tie game.  Kyle Kelsey allowed 1 earned run over 5 1/3 innings, and Austin Templeton threw 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief to pick up the win. 

Montgomery County 3  Bourbon County 2 (11 innings)
Bourbon County scored 2 runs in the top of the 7th to tie it, and the game remained knotted at 2 until Montgomery County won it in the bottom of the 11th.  Blake Thomas went 2-5 with a triple and RBI, and Jordan Nester threw 5 scoreless innings in relief to record the win.  Bourbon County starter Kaven Brown allowed one earned run and struck out 10 over 9 innings in the no decision.  Ben Schanding collected 3 hits in the loss.
