The following is a look at the Class of 2017 and 2018 pitchers who participated in the event. This is pitching analysis only. Those pitchers who also participated as position player at the event had that performance featured in a separate article.

Mason Hazelwood, LHP, Mercer County HS, 2017
6-foot-5, 205-pound LHP is raw but has tremendous upside, works through a ¾ arm slot with long arm action and regular effort, fastball sat 84-86 mph topping at 87, lacks feel for 61-65 mph curveball with varying action that needs continued development, showed a 74-76 mph changeup that has solid potential, also threw a 62-65 mph knuckle ball. Hazelwood has big potential with his size and velocity but will need to work on refining mechanics and secondary pitches to reach full potential.

Maclaine Morris, 3B/RHP, Henderson County HS, 2018
6-foot-1, 138-pound RHP uses long arm action through a ¾ arm slot, good rhythm in delivery with regular effort, fastball shows slight arm-side run at 78-80 mph, shows some feel for 68-70 mph curveball with 11/5 action, tended to miss down with 69-70 mph changeup thrown with good arm action, interesting 2018 mound prospect with potential to add significant velocity.

Josh Graves, RHP/OF, Nelson County HS, 2018
6-foot-1, 168-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with minimal effort in delivery, arm action is long and loose, fastball sat 76-78 mph topping at 79 and shows late sinking action, showed occasional feel for 64-66 mph curveball with 11/5 action, changeup proved to be a solid pitch at 69-70 mph with good sink and fade thrown for strikes with good arm action, also showed a 65-68 mph slider with short break, interesting young prospect with good upside.

Matthew Logsdon, RHP, St. Xavier HS, 2017
6-foot-3, 175-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with long arm action and minimal effort, deliberate delivery, loose/clean arm action, fastball sat 76-77 mph touching 78 with occasional arm-side run, good feel for 64-66 mph curveball with 11/5 action, throws a solid 68-69 mph changeup with some fade and sink and good velocity difference off fastball. Logsdon has an ideal pitcher’s frame with good projection and likely more velocity to come.

Jonathan Allen, LHP/1B, St. Xavier HS, 2017
6-foot-1, 170-pound LHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with short arm action and regular effort, deliberate delivery, clean arm action, fastball sat 75-78 mph with some cutting action, throws a 66-69 mph curveball that varied between sharper 1/7 action and sweeping 2/8 action, also showed a 69-72 mph slider with short/late break, good feel for 72-75 mph changeup that is mostly straight and will be more effective with slightly bigger velocity difference off fastball.

Adam Fusco, SS/RHP, South Oldham HS, 2017
6-foot-1, 165-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with regular effort in a deliberate delivery and shorter arm action, arm shows some quickness, fastball sat 76-77 mph touching 79 on one occasion and shows some late arm-side life, has good feel for his 62-64 mph curveball with solid 11/5 action and some depth, lacked feel for 68-69 mph changeup that he tended to bury, also showed 66 mph slider with short break, combination of frame and clean arm action gives potential for additional velocity

Alex Markley, 3B/RHP, St. Xavier HS, 2017
6-foot-2, 240-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with regular effort, fastball sat 78-79 mph topping at 80 with good arm-side run, showed a 64-66 mph curveball with some displaying sharp 11/5 action, throws a 64-65 mph splitter as a changeup, splitter showed some late tumbling action, showed good overall command of his three-pitch mix.

Rece Carter, LHP/1B, McCracken County HS, 2017
6-foot-1, 195-pound LHP uses long arm action through a high-3/4 arm slot, regular effort in delivery, fastball sat 78-79 mph and is mostly straight, tended to get under curveball leaving it flat and up in the zone at 58-60 mph, changeup is best secondary pitch at 64-67 mph thrown for strikes with minimal action..

Sam Seahorn, 2B/RHP, Sayre HS, 2017
5-foot-10, 140-pound 2B/RHP works through an over the top arm slot with regular effort and long arm action, good rhythm in delivery, fastball sat 75-77 mph topping at 78 with occasional sinking action, throws a 69-70 mph curveball with mostly 12/6 action that has potential to be a solid pitch, throws his 70-72 mph changeup for strikes that is mostly straight.

Nick Casey, RHP/2B, Muhlenberg County HS, 2018
6-foot-1, 168-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with long arm action and regular effort, arm works cleanly, fastball sat 74-77 mph touching 78 once, two-seam fastball shows some arm-side run, 63-65 mph curveball was inconsistent but has potential as some showed sharper 11/5 action, lacked feel for 62-66 mph changeup tending to bury it, young prospect with solid potential on the mound.

Andrew Huff, 3B/RHP, Ryle HS, 2017
5-foot-11, 170-pound RHP works through a high-3/4 arm slot with long arm action and regular effort in delivery, fastball sat 75-77 mph, showed good feel for his 65-68 mph curveball throwing it for strikes with 11/5 action, also showed some feel for 69-70 mph changeup that got better as his bullpen session progressed, changeup shows some fade at the bottom of the zone.

Riley Hogan, LHP/OF, Bowling Green HS, 2017
5-foot-9, 165-pound LHP works through a ¾ arm slot with long arm action and minimal effort in delivery, consistently throws strikes with all pitches, fastball sat 67-69 mph with occasional cutting action, showed a 59-62 mph curveball with gradual 1/7 action, has good feel for 60-62 mph changeup that is mostly straight, also showed a 59-61 mph slider that was similar to curveball.

Bradley Dix, RHP, Carlisle County HS, 2017
5-foot-9, 155-pound RHP works through various arm slots (mostly low ¾ to ¾) with all pitches. Regular effort in delivery, fastball sat 67-69 mph with occasional arm-side run, throws a 62-63 mph curveball with minimal action, 63-65 mph changeup is best secondary pitch with good arm-side fade, also mixed in a 53-55 mph knuckleball in his bullpen session.
