Kentucky Team of the Week: LCA Eagles

It’s no secret the 43rd District is arguably the toughest in the state year after year. Just ask the Eagles of Lexington Christian Academy who haven’t advanced beyond the District Tourney since they won it in 2010. That’s something they hope to rectify this spring.

LCA is off to a 13-3 start this season, powered by their pitching which has allowed three runs or less in 10 of those wins. In fact they haven’t lost since April 2 in Fort Walton Beach, FL and have lost to only one in-state team all season.

Last week the Eagles completed a 3-0 week that began with a 6-2 win over Tates Creek on Wednesday. They followed that up with two wins on Saturday, an 8-7 win over Scott County, and a 6-1 victory over South Oldham. The three wins stretch their current winning streak to seven games.

For their performance on the field last week, the Lexington Christian Eagles have been selected as the PBR Kentucky Team of the Week for April 13-18.
