Austin Bridgeman, RHP/1B, Owensboro Catholic HS, 2015

At 6-foot-2, 185-pounds, Bridgeman has an athletic frame with projection.  He impressed on the mound at the Unsigned Senior Games at Northern Kentucky University last month, allowing no hits while striking out two in his two inning stint.

Working through a high ¾ arm slot, Bridgeman’s arm is loose and shows some quickness.  His fastball sat 83-85 mph, topping at 86 in his first inning of work and showed late arm-side life.  He lost some velocity in the second inning, sitting 80-81, but continued to show good command in working a perfect inning.  Bridgeman’s curveball showed sharp 11/5 action at 70 mph, but it was his slider that really turned some heads.  The slider was hard at 75-78 mph with late bite, and with continued development, has the potential to be a very good pitch at the next level.
