On Wednesday night, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana was in attendance at Kirsch Rooney stadium, where the Louisiana Knights took on Delgado CC. Delgado pulled out a 4 to 1 victory over the talented select program. Both squads ran several arms, and position players, in and out the game. The following are some notes on last night’s contest.

+ 2016 LHP Sean Tweedy (Northlake Christian HS) was impressive in a one inning outing. The unsigned senior sat 85-88 mph with life and showed a much sharper slider at 76-77 mph with depth and spin.

+ Delgado CC RHP Connor McWilliams sat 88-91 mph with a clean arm action and flashed sharp slider.

+ 2017 RHP, and LSU commit, Blayne Enlow (St. Amant HS) sat 89-91 mph with a plus breaking ball at 79-81 mph with extremely tight spin, and late, hard break.

+ Delgado CC RHP Evan Heilman sat 88-90 with loads of life at the end, punching out several Knights hitters.

+ 2017 RHP Rafe Schindler (Chalmette HS) sat 84-86 mph with solid life on the fastball and flashed the makings of a solid slider at 73-74 mph.

+ Unsigned 2016 INF Grant Schulz (Holy Cross HS) showing well defensively at third base, and handled velocity offensively, homering to RF.

+ Unsigned 2016 Catcher CJ Estave (Franklinton HS) showed well behind the dish, and hammered a double over the Delgado RF’s head.

+ 2016 LHP, Southeastern Louisiana commit, Cole Martin (Destrehan HS) showed a clean, easy arm action with an 83-85 mph fastball and flashed solid breaking ball with spin and depth.

+ Outfielders Tyler Smith (Covington HS), unsigned senior, and Tulane commit, Stephen Sepcich (Jesuit HS) both showed outstanding athleticism with arm strength throughout the night.

Also, on Sunday, Oct. 18, PBR Louisiana is hosting the Unsigned Senior Showcase at Louisiana Baseball and Softball Academy, a state of the art indoor facility located in Harahan, LA. Space is limited for this event, so don’t wait to register!
