With the start of the 2015 spring season right around the corner, Prep Baseball Report Louisiana was pleased to release its class of 2016 Top 40 rankings yesterday. The 2015 and 2016 rankings will be updated periodically throughout the spring season, as well as the release of the 2017 classes and beyond, as we bring you all the detailed information regarding high school baseball in the state of Louisiana.

Today we take a look at three players that landed outside of the top ten that are poised to make a big jump this spring.

Branson Audette, 1B, Lafayette HS
Coming in at No. 13 is the 6-foot-2, 200-pound uncommitted first baseman with an extremely physical frame and clear present strength. Left-handed hitter with smooth swing, plus bat speed, strength at contact and quality leverage in the swing. Hits to all fields, and consistently finds the barrel in live game situations. Average defensive first baseman with good arm strength and a proto-typical first base frame.

Matthew Beck, RHP, Alexandria Senior High
Landing at No. 16 is the  6-foot-5, 200-pound uncommitted right-hander from Alexandria, LA. Big frame with wide shoulders and long arms. Clean, fast arm action with effort in the delivery out of a mid-3/4 release that has tilt and angle. Fastball will sit 84-86 mph and has touched 90 with occasional life. Breaking ball is inconsistent at times but he has flashed one that has 11/5 shape, spins correctly with decent depth and deception. Overall raw product with arm strength, size and upside. If the upper end of his velocity scale can hold for an extended period of time, he could become a very interesting prospect.

Tremaine Spears, OF/1B, Tioga HS
Landing at No. 18 is the 6-foot, 200-pound outfielder/first base prospect from Tioga HS. Medium, developed, and physical frame with obvious present strength and power potential. Right-handed hitter with rotational type swing, loads of bat speed, strength at contact and creates natural leverage with the bat path. Showed well at 18U WWBA as a rising junior landing on several balls against top level arms. College average athlete and defensive outfielder that shows big power potential.

Please keep an eye out as Prep Baseball Report Louisiana will begin a schedule of events once the spring season has concluded. Also, if you have not done so already, please click the link to fill out this free player profile to get your recruiting process started now.
