Weekend Recap: Quick Hits

Over the weekend Prep Baseball Report Louisiana spent time at games all across the state. Every week we will do a short, weekly roundup of prospects seen, as well as noteworthy performances that have been sent in to us.

+ Austin Perrin (2017) went complete game shutout against Zachary, striking out 9, walking 2 and only surrendering 1 hit.

+ Byrd HS LHP,  Jonathan Fincher (2017) went 5 innings with 10 Ks, allowing 2 runs in a 3-1 loss against Brother Martin. So far this season he has 25 innings pitched with 41 Ks.

+ Dean Alexander, Thomas Jefferson (2016) picked up 2 victories this week, in game 1 vs.  Pope John Paul he had 5 Ks giving up  2 hits and 1 earned run. In game 2 vs Ponchatoula he gave up 2 Hits with 7 Ks in a complete game shut out. Also went 8-for-16 with 3 doubles and 8 RBI at the plate.

+ Logan Stevens (Northlake Christian) Pitched a complete game shutout giving up 1 hit with 10 strikeouts as Northlake Christian beat Ben Franklin 11-0. Stevens also went 4-9 with 1 RBI and 5 runs scored at the dish.

+ Nick Studdard (Grace King HS) is hitting .303 with 5 doubles, 5 stolen bases, 1 Homerun, 11 RBI on the year thus far. This week he went 4-for-9 with a homer, 6 RBI, and 3 walks.

+ Denham Springs HS catcher, Jacob Siegel, went 7-for-13 with 4 singles, 3 doubles and 5 RBI.

+ South Beauregard HS beat Anacoco 15-2 , Loyola Prep 10-0 and Patterson 15-3 this week. LHP Logan Savoy (2017) had 13 Ks vs Loyola in 5 innings of work giving up only 1 hit.

+ Josh Gann (2017) went 2-3 with an RBI, and run scored to help Grace Christian upset Barbe this week. Luke Boswell (2017) also went complete game in the win.
