John Polichetti, RHP/INF, Pinkerton Academy (NH), 2016

PBR: How does it feel to have your college commitment process over and done with?

Polichetti: Having my college commitment out of the way is a huge relief and accomplishment in my life. I have always dreamt of being a collegiate baseball player since I was a kid and I am blessed to have my dream come true by committing to play Division 1 baseball at Boston College.

PBR: Who was influential on your college decision?

Polichetti: My family and my coaches, specifically Steve Lomasney, influenced me the most when making my college decision. They guided me through the process of finding a balance between a great education and a great baseball program.

PBR: What factors made you decide on you attending Boston College?

Polichetti: The determining factor in my final decision was the education I will be getting at Boston College. Also, it was very important to me to play at a great school that was close to home so my family could come and watch me play.

PBR: What are your personal and team goals for this upcoming spring?

Polichetti: My personal goals for the spring are to play the game hard with no regrets and put forth the maximum effort into every single part of my game. My team goals are to play with the mindset of TEAM first and for every player to do their job and not go out side of their limits. It takes a whole team to win, not just one player.

PBR: What do you plan to improve upon as college approaches?

Polichetti: I plan to improve my game heading into the college level by working harder and harder and to never be satisfied with my accomplishments. Staying hungry for more is important to ensure I keep improving and working hard.

PBR: Who has influenced you the most in your life, on and off the field?

Polichetti: Both on and off the field, my dad has been the most instrumental person in my life. He is there for me through the ups and the downs giving me advice and motivation to keep getting better. In the class room and on the baseball field, he pushes me to strive for the best. My dad has taught me a lot about baseball, but more importantly, about life.
