Matthew LandersName: Matthew Landers
Position: LHP
Grade: 2016
Height/Weight: 5-foot-11, 195 pounds
High School: Littleton

PBR: What schools have you been hearing from?

Landers: I’ve had a lot of follow-up contact from coaches at UMass Lowell, Merrimack, AIC, Franklin Pierce, Keene State and Mass Maritime.

PBR: Have you developed a relationship with any specific coaches?

Landers: I've developed relationships with Coach Monaghan at UMass Lowell, Coach Barese at Merrimack, Coach Callini at AIC, Coach King at Franklin Pierce, Coach Testo at Keene State and Coach Kelley at Mass Maritime.

PBR: Have you taken any visits? If so, please describe each visit.

Landers: I’ve made campus visits to UMass Lowell, Merrimack, AIC, Keene State, Colby-Sawyer, Endicott and Assumption. I’ve also made additional athletic visits to UMass Lowell and AIC. I have attended numerous camps and played with the Showcase League on campuses around New England.

PBR: Do you have any visits scheduled?

Landers: I am scheduled to visit Franklin Pierce this month and again in April.

PBR: Do you have any offers at this stage?

Landers: Not right now. I think offers will develop after my Spring and Summer seasons this year.

PBR: Do you have a timeline for your recruitment?

Landers: I’m hoping to receive offers and make a commitment prior to the Early Signing Period next November.

PBR: Do you have a favorite at this stage? If so, who and why?

Landers: In general my favorites are schools that offer academic programs in Sports Medicine or related studies. UMass Lowell, Merrimack, Franklin Pierce and AIC all offer great academics in my major, along with competitive D1 or D2 baseball programs. But I can see myself attending any of the schools I have visited so far.

PBR: What showcases or events have been most meaningful to your recruitment thus far?

Landers: Last year, NE Top Prospects, Top96 and IBA showcases were good chances to obtain video and measurables, but camps at Merrimack, AIC, UMass Lowell, Keene State and elsewhere were more valuable because of the chance to work directly with the players and coaches at schools I am interested in. Playing in the Showcase League last Fall with Show Baseball Academy was also a very valuable experience and I look forward to playing again this Fall.

PBR: GPA/ACT/SAT?

Landers: 3.60 GPA, 22 ACT, 1580 SAT.
