2015 Game of the Year Candidates

With 2015 getting closer to the finish line, PBR Maryland has developed the "Best Of" fan voting series, getting our viewers involved on their thoughts of the year. Already we have started that with our fan voting for the "Top Moment of 2015". Candidates include the Maryland state champions, MIAA champions, and the first Maryland HS player drafted in the 2015 MLB Amateur draft.  You can vote for that now by CLICKING HERE.

Today we are going to look at the candidates for the 2015 Game of the Year. Here are the nominees and a quick look at the game.

1A Semi-Finals: McDonough v. Colonel Richardson
+Dale Arbaugh hit a two out walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh to give McDonough the victory. Col. Richardson tied the game up with two runs in the top of the frame to set up the dramatic ending. GAME STORY

2A Semi-Finals: Southern v. South Carroll
+South Carroll tied the game up in the bottom of the seventh and the game would continue to go for 11 innings. Southern's Dillon Waters provided the walk-off winner with a right center drive.  GAME STORY

3A State Championship: Chopticon v Mount Hebron
+A pitchers duel for the ages between Chopticon's Ljay Newsome and Mount Hebron's Mark Smith. Zach Jerew's sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh ended the game in dramatic fashion. GAME STORY

MIAA "B" Semi-Finals: St. Mary's v. Boys Latin
+Another back-and-forth affair with three lead changes in the contest, St. Mary's pulled out the victory in the bottom of the seventh. They loaded the bases with two out and Max Hammond had the walk-off winner making the score 6-5 and taking St. Mary's to the championship game. GAME STORY

MIAA "A" Semi-Finals: Calvert Hall v. Mount St. Joseph
+Calvert Hall was down 11-2 in the bottom of the fifth and then was down 13-10 in the bottom of the seventh. Four runs in the bottom of the frame gave Calvert Hall the 14-13 victory and sent them to the championship game of the "A" division. GAME STORY
