Pitchers

+Nick Pantos (Maryland) is coming off a 2015 injury that limited his innings on the mound and if he returns to old self, will add another dynamic weapon to a Gaithersburg team looking to repeat as 4A champs…Virginia Tech commit Stephen Pelli came into his own last spring for St. Mary’s during his freshmen year and also while playing at a high level for Evoshield last summer. His durable frame and quick arm is going to make Pelli an exciting pitcher to watch for the next three years in the state…Mitch Wilson (UMBC) had an outstanding season for St. James last year with 60 K’s in 42.1 innings on the mound and looks to improve upon that for an interesting Saint James team this year…Brad Weber will play an important role anchoring the Calvert Hall pitching staff the 2016 season…Andrew Wanger will be the ace for Brunswick again this 2016 and will hope to lead them back to a state championship in 1A…River Hill’s Kieran Garner (Maryland) has the potential to be one of the top power arms in the state and will be a key to the success for the Hawks this year.

Catchers

+Charles Tsintolas (George Washington) might be one of the best defensive catchers in the state and will help lead a Heights team looking for a OLBC championship…Athletic backstop Joey Mendez (Longwood) will play a large role for Riverdale Baptist on both the offensive and defensive fronts.

Infield

+1B Bryce Rogers-Black (Radford) has some of the best pure power hitters in the state and look for the Northern HS product to have a big year at the plate…Zach Seal (Wake Forest) is another weapon in the middle of the order for a deep and talented lineup at Georgetown Prep this season…David Harding (Princeton) is an athletic specimen at shortstop for Spalding as he makes the move to shortstop from second this year for the Cavaliers…Michael Richardson (Campbell) will lead a Cambridge South Dorchester team that could be a surprise in the 1A coming out of the Eastern Shore…

Outfield

+Two sport talent Zechariah McPherson (Penn State, football) shows excellent range in the outfield and creates havoc on the offensive side with his top-end speed at the lead-off spot in the Riverdale Baptist lineup…LaVale Hodges (South Carolina-Aiken) is a physical athlete in the outfield and dangerous weapon in the middle of the Spalding order this season…Dillon Waters (Salisbury) of Southern will be a major threat in the Bulldog offense and be a run producer as well.

Utility

+Bruce Pattishall Jr of Paint Branch is a key player for the Panthers anchoring the pitching staff, solidifying the middle of the infield at shortstop, and key hitter in the lineup as they look to have another big season this 2016…David Larson of McDonough was an irreplaceable component for the Rams in 2015 and their run to the 1A state championship game. He will once again provide a power threat in the lineup and log plenty of innings for the 2016 season.
