Season Outlook
Hammond is looking to improve up the 2015 season. Leading the team on the offensive end will be James Madison recruit DaVonn Griffin. Griffin is one of the fastest players in the state, a Preseason All-State selection, and was a high riser over the course of last summer. He is coming off a .339 BA, .486 OBP, 2 HR, and 17 SB season in 2015 and should improve upon those numbers this upcoming season. Look for Sam Wiedorfer (.319 BA, 8 SB) to also provide stability to the order. Keep an eye out for newcomers Marcus Anderson, Nick Buonaccorsi, and Jason Walls as they come up from varsity to add depth to the team. They will need to find a replacement in the middle of the order after the graduation of Andy Weaver.

On the mound, David Hutchison will anchor the pitching staff this season. Another Preseason All-State selection, Hutchison pitched well in 2015 and gives the team an opportunity to win every time on the mound.  He had a hard-luck 1-4 record with a 2.75 ERA with 40 strikeouts in 35.2 innings pitched, including four complete games.  Ryan Ridgell will also add stability to the rotation after a 3-2 record with a 4.41 ERA in 39.2 innings and four complete games. Look for youngsters Joseph Sarich, JJ Woodson, and Gavin Walls to provide innings and depth to the bullpen.
