Season Outlook
The defending regular season IAC champs are looking forward to the 2016 season and will be led by Maryland commit junior OF/LHP Randy Bednar Jr. Bednar is one of the top players in the state and will be a force for the team in the middle of the lineup and also at the top of the Bear rotation. He should build on his impressive numbers from the sophomore campaign (.418 BA, 2 HR, 14 RBI, 21 R, 9 SB, 4-1, 3.25 ERA, 41 K).

Marist College recruit Patrick Lightner returns and will add another threat in the lineup (.279 BA, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 21 R, 6 SB) along with OF/P Josh Hunter (.275BA). Keep an eye on C Rahul Gill for the Bears and senior 2B Ryan Murray, who started as a freshmen, but has missed the last two seasons due to injury and is healthy for the season. Junior Scott Prutting should add another bat in the lineup this season. The Bears are looking at five new starters this year with new faces at the corner infield, corner outfield, and behind the plate. Those starters will see their first full-time action after being in part time roles the year before and how quickly those starter can adjust and contribute should play a factor in the season success.

Bednar will be the ace of the staff this season and look for senior Zach Wiener to also have a big year for the Bears. Lightner will also solidify the back end of the bullpen as the team’s closer. Josh Hunter should also provide innings for Landon. Overall, look for another strong season for the Bears in their quest for an IAC championship.
