Season Outlook
Reservoir is in a bit of a rebuilding year this 2016 after losing 14 seniors from the 2015 roster. Gone are stars Jack Barry, Jon Mierzwa, and Cody Morris from their 2014 state championship team. Even with Morris (South Carolina, 32nd Rd. pick, Orioles) not being able to pitch last season, the Gators were one game away from making the state tournament after losing a 1-0 decision to Mark Smith and Mount Hebron in the Region Finals.

Despite the loss of so many players, the Gators are very excited about the new talent coming into this season. The winning tradition has been engraved into the program and in early season workouts, the coaching staff is very optimistic about the new core of players. Eric Niederhauser, Patrick Alexander, Max Goron are expected to lead the pitching staff this season with Niederhauser and the outfield trio of Cameron Hyder, Victor LeBlanc, and Kyle Fehr to pace the offense.

The biggest transition the Gators will have to face is catching up to the speed of the varsity game. Most of the players that will be looked upon to contribute this 2016 season were on the JV roster last year and will have to catch up to the pace of the game. Do not be surprised if the Gators are playing some better baseball the second half of the year as they come into their own.
