Season Outlook
There is plenty of optimism for the 2016 season at St. Charles high school as this year marks the first in the young school???s history that they have a senior class. Since the school opened just last school year, it has taken time to mesh players together that other schools have the advantage of playing JV and varsity baseball together. With a year under their belt, St. Charles is excited to have gained that experience for year two under coach Zachery Bush. Leading the way will be senior Cody Hill, who hit .419 with four triples last season for the Spartans. With every starter and part-time starters returning, having a year playing together will help the growth of the team as a whole. Key returners include seniors Gage Dietrich and Tim Sprouse, Junior Daniel Vennemann, and sophomore Dylan Bell.  Keep an eye out for junior Dominic Ford and sophomores John Boling and Devon Williams to help out the lineup as well. Newcomers Tyrell Lee (Soph.) and Darrell Butler (Fr.) are two players that should bring extra athleticism to the team.

On the mound transfer Elindsey Dodson from Prince George County should make an immediate impact for the Spartans as well as in the middle of the lineup. Look for Hill to contribute on the mound as well with Bell, Boling, and Vennemann to also provide innings.

With all the excitement of growth as a program in year two, it still needs to be mentioned that this is a young program and will continue to go through some growing pains.  Improved defense will be a goal along with becoming tougher at the plate so the Spartans can take advantage of their athleticism and be aggressive on the bases.  Coach Bush has exemplified a strong vision for the young program and look for the St. Charles program to make strides in 2016.
