Season Outlook
The Heights return an experience starting lineup for the 2016 season. All eight position players are back from the 2015 that finished at the Old Line championship game against Avalon. A strong core of offensive returners include Guy DeSanctis (.315 BA, 25 RBI), Nate Gadiano (.317 BA) Jack Kuzma (.304 BA), Vincent Buono (.287 BA) and Charles Tsintolas (.279 BA, 3 HR). Tsintolas, headed to George Washington next year, is on the short list for top catcher in the state and arguably the best pure catch-and-throw in the state. Keep an eye on young players Al Ramos and Connor Anderson to add more depth to the already deep lineup.

DeSanctis also heads up an experienced pitching staff returning. He made 15 appearances for the Cavaliers last season and nine starts. In his 61.2 innings pitched DeSanctis had a 5-5 record with 54 strikeouts and a 2.04 ERA. No. 2 starter Buono returns his 4-1 record in 39 innings and 3.23 ERA.  Look for SS/RHP Henry Crooks to improve upon his 21 innings on the mound mainly coming out of the pen. The team will need to look for one of their returning arms to step in at the back end of the staff in a late inning role to finish out games.

The Heights competed at a high level with a tough schedule of competition and used that en route to the Old Line championship where they came up just short to Avalon.  Do not be surprised to see The Heights once again playing for an Old Line championship in 2016.
