Jack Schroeder’s go ahead two-out, two-run single in the top of the fourth inning broke up a 4-4 and was the difference in the game as Mt. Hebron beat Hammond 6-4.

Hammond got the scoring started early in the contest after JMU recruit DaVonn Griffin led the game off with a double to right center and was followed by Sam Wiedorfer’s RBI single to right. Hebron would immediately bounce back with four runs in the second inning highlighted by Michael Carbonetti and Kevin Broache RBI hits to give the Vikings the 4-2 lead.

Hammond came back yet again in the bottom of the second tying the game up after Wiedorfer hit a two-run RBI triple to right field to tie the game up at four.

The top of the fourth started with two quick outs by Hammond starting pitcher Ryan Ridgell. A walk, single, and hit-by-pitch would load the bases for Hebron's star player Schroeder who didn’t waste any time launching the first good pitch he saw back up the middle for the go-ahead and eventual game-winning RBI’s.

Hebron was led by Schroeder, who went 2-for-3 on the day with two RBI. Hebron’s relief pitching came in crucial for the Vikings after starting pitcher Jack Montgomery had to leave the game in the second.

Hammond was led by Wiedorfer, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI. Ridgell took the loss going six innings giving up seven hits, four runs (three earned).
