Daily Roundup: April 16 Games



Bay City All Saints 5 No. 6 Bay City John Glenn 4 – Brian Feinauer got the win throwing five innings allowing one run, one hit, one walk, and striking out seven.

No. 6 Bay City John Glenn 6 Bay City All Saints 0 – Reid Beffrey got the win in game two throwing six shutout innings allowing five hits and striking out six.

No. 9 U of D Jesuit 6 De La Salle 3 – TJ Shook got the win on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing two earned runs, four hits, and striking out ten, he also drove in a run at the plate. Conrad Kovalcik led the offense going 2-4 with a double and two RBI. Liam Teevens and Houle each drove in a run and scored once.

No. 9 U of D Jesuit 4 De La Salle 2 – Liam Teevens got the win in game two allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out four. U of D only had two hits in the game, Gard had one and also drove in a run. TJ Shook and Harrison Wenson each drove in a run.

No.  11 Mattawan 2 Niles 1 – Butler went the distance to get the win allowing one run on four hits and striking out nine. Root doubled and had the only two RBI in the game for Mattawan. Anderson was 2-3 and scored both of the runs.

No. 19 Grand Rapids South Christian 5-7 Middleville Thronapple Kellogg 0-0 – Grand Rapids got two dominating pitching performances. Sam Memmelaar won game one going all seven innings allowing two hits and striking out 10. Curt Post went six innings in game two allowing two hits and striking out nine. Memmelaar doubled and drove in three runs.

No. 25 North Farmington 6 Seaholm 4 – Mitch Kramer picked up the win throwing five innings allowing four runs, none earned, on five hits and striking out four. David Lett went 2-4 with a double and three RBI. Bobby Lett doubled and drove in two runs and Eric Stanis doubled and drove in a run. Brooks Reno was 1-1 with two walks, a RBI, and a run scored.

Adams 7 Rochester 1 – Mike Surinck got the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing one run on four hits and striking out four. Ben Hart led the offense going 3-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored. David Garman also drove in two runs.

Beal City 13-10 Shepherd 3-9 – Beal City picked up two wins on the day. In game one Ryan Marshall was 2-4 with a homerun and two RBI, Nick Hoogerhyde doubled and drove in three, and Ryan Tilmann was 3-4 with two doubles and two RBI.

Berrien Springs 16-7 Allegan 4-2 – Matt Rudlaff got the win in game one and Chase Covert got the win in game two. Kyle Rago had five hits on the day, one for a double, and drive in a run. Anderson Burton had three hits and drove in three runs. Rudlaff and Brian Shembarger was had three hits and two RBI.

Berkley 5 Troy 4 – Ian Kobernick finished the day 2-3 with both hits for homeruns and drove in three runs. Mike Thomas was 2-3 with two RBI and Riley Klein also went 2-3 and drove in one.

Birch Run 6-13 Ovid Elsie 3-3 – Joe Ferguson got the win in game one throwing six innings allowing one earned run, four hits and striking out 12. Thomas Fortney picked up the win in game two throwing five innings allowing one earned run, three hits, and striking out 11.

Brooklyn Columbia Central 10-17 Onsted 4-1 – JD Taylor had a big two games finishing 5-6 with three walks, six RBI, and three runs scored. Brandon Herzberg was 3-8 with four RBI and two runs scored and Nick Gregg was 3-6 with a triple, RBI, and four runs scored. Skylar Bensch got the win in game one throwing all seven innings allowing three earned runs, six hits, and striking out seven. Herzberg got the win gin game two throwing five innings allowing one unearned run on two hits and striking out six.

Clawson 15 Sterling Heights 1 –Jake Smith got the win striking out five. Craig Bynum homered and drove in three runs.

Comstock Park 3 Allendale 2 – Zane Gonzalez was very good on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing two hits and striking out eight, he also drove in a run at the plate. Jack Razmus also drove in a run in the win. 

Comstock 12 Allendale 4 – Jake Brown led the offense in game two going 3-3 with a double and two RBI. Eric Schweitzer was 2-4 with a double and run, Travis Richard and Ryan Schall each drove in two runs and Calvin Wojtaszak scored three times. Schweitzer also got the win throwing 4.2 innings allowing four hits, no earned runs, and striking out four.

Cranbrook Kingswood 15 Jewish Academy 0 – Grant Reuss drove in five runs in the game finishing the day 2-3 with a double and two runs scored. Cameron Maxwell went 3-4 with two RBI and a run and Jeremy Loewenstein tripled, drove in two runs, and scored twice. Matt Thelen threw a two hitter in four innings while striking out five to get the win.

East Grand Rapids 5 Grand Rapids Forest Hills Central 4 – East Grand Rapid scored three runs in the top of the seventh to get the win. Nathan Kamradt got the win throwing two innings allowing no runs and one hit, he also drove in a run. Joel Dayton doubled and drove in a run and Jeff Smith had a hit and a RBI.

Eisenhower 4 Chippewa Valley 2 – Kyle Bruce got the win allowing six hits and striking out seven. Nick Tokarcyzk had two hits and drove in a run. Paul Harper and Jake Wichlacz each drove in a run.

Farmington Hills Harrison 13 Dearborn 0 – Kieran Ronan had a big day at the plate going 2-3 with two doubles and three RBI. Joe Carter also had a good game going 2-2 and scoring three times.

Galesburg-Augusta 3-4 Battle Creek Pennfield 2-3 – Galesburg got two complete game wins on the mound. Kyle Mallwitz got the game one win allowing four hits, one runs and striking out 10. Jordan Smith won game two allowing two runs on eight hits and striking out eight. Jordan Born had three hits and four RBI on the day.

Greenville 3-17 Grand Rapids Forest Hills 2-1 – Syrjala got the win in game one throwing seven innings allowing two runs on four hits and striking out 13. Groom threw all five innings in game two getting the win allowing just one hit and striking out four.

Homer 4-4 Athens 1-0 – Jared Warsop got the win in game one allowing one hit, no runs, and striking out seven in six innings of work. Dylan Thomas got the win in game two throwing 5.1 innings allowing no runs, two hits, and striking out five. Nate Sitkiewicz had five hits on the day with a double and two RBI. Alec White had three hits, drove in a run, and doubled.

Kalamazoo Christian 4 Parchment 1 – Modderman got the win in game two going 6.2 innings allowing one run on five hits and striking out seven. He also tripled, drove in a run, and scored once. Meyer had the other RBI and KC.

Kalamazoo Hackett 10 Schoolcraft 0 – Brett Yelton threw a six inning no hitter striking out 10. Brain Reits drove in two runs and Nick Barrasso doubled and drove in a run.

Ludington 3 Orchard View 1 – Blake Collins was very good on the mound for Ludington allowing just two hits, one unearned runs, and striking out eight in seven innings of work. Chad Large tripled and drove in two runs and Ryan Bowen doubled and scored once.

Midland Bullock Creek 9-12 Caro 0-0 – Keegan Akin threw six no hit innings to pick up one of the wins. Tyler Miller drove in four runs on the day and Nick Cowles drove in three.

Muskegon Catholic Central 4 Grand Rapids Covenant Christian 1 – Zach Winzer led the offense picking up three hits, one for a double, stealing two bases, and scoring twice. Anthony Woodard had two hits and drove in a run. Nick Holt got the win throwing 5.2 innings allowing one unearned run on four hits and striking out five.

Muskegon Mona Shores 15-11 Muskegon 5-1 – Collin Adams got the game two win throwing six innings and striking out 15. Tyler Trovinger had a triple, homerun, and two RBI.

Muskegon Oakridge 11-15 Hart 1-2 – Jordan Wahr got the win in game one throwing all five innings allowing just one hit and striking out six. Francis Decker got the win in game two allowing three hits and striking out seven. Scott Sittser had a big day finishing 6-8 with two doubles, six RBI, and two runs scored. Jordan Fairchild was 3-7 with three RBI and five runs.

New Buffalo 14 Eau Claire 0 – New Buffalo scored in all four of their at bats to get the win. Ryan Ziarko was 2-2 with a double, RBI, and two runs and Zac Workman was 2-2 with two RBI and two runs. Aaron Buckner was 2-4 with a double and two RBI and Kevin Levine was 2-2 with a triple and a run. Elijah Owens got the win throwing three innings allowing just one hit and striking out two.

New Buffalo 8 Eau Claire 0 – New Buffalo had three pitchers combine for a no hitter. Aaron Buckner was dominant throwing three innings striking out all nine batters he faced, Christian Hoch threw two innings allowing two walks and striking out one, and Kyle Levin threw the final two innings striking out four. Buckner was 3-4 with a RBI and a run scored. Elijah Owens was 2-4 with two RBI and Ryan Ziarko was 2-2 with two doubles and a RBI.

Newaygo 9-4 Remus Chippewa Hills 4-2 – Andrew Middleton got the game one win and Matt Milbourne got the game two victory. Middleton went seven innings allowing four runs and striking out four and Milbourne went six innings allowing two runs on five hits and striking out four. Milbourne had a big day at the plate going 5-8 with a double, triple, and four runs scored.

Niles 10 Mattawan 0 – Tate Rudlaff went 3-3 with three runs scored in the leadoff spot. Chris Mangus dorve in three runs and Connor Glick and Taylor Weldy each had two hits and drove in two runs. Tate Brawley threw a five inning one hitter, allowing one walk and striking out eight to get the win.

Notre Dame Prep 7 Lutheran North 1 – Swanson got the win on the mound throwing all seven innings allowing one run on four hits and striking out eight. Cullen hit and solo homerun and Schilling was 3-3 with a RBI and two runs scored.

Notre Dame Prep 8 Lutheran North 2 – Cullen had a big game in game two going 3-4 with two doubles, three RBI, and two runs scored. Gunn was 3-4 with two runs scored and Broderick was 2-3 with two runs scored.

Novi Franklin 11 Southfield Christian 1 – Vince Montoro threw all five innings allowing just on run to get the win. Nick Harris led the offense going 2-2 with three RBI and three runs. Paul Alex was also 2-2 with three runs scored.

Orchard View 8 Ludington 2 – Jay Mitchell got the win in game two going the distance while allowing two runs on three hits and striking out eight. At the plate he was 3-5 with a double and a run scored. Jett drove in three runs and Prause was 2-3 with two runs scored.

Otsego 6 Edwardsburg 5 – Ryan Lovett got the win throwing four innings allowing three runs on three hits and striking out two, he also drove in a run and scored twice. Kody Hukill was 2-4 with three RBI and a run scored and Jaeden Thompson was 2-4 with a RBI and a run scored.

Parchment 8 Kalamazoo Christian 3 – Parchment trailed by one going into the fifth, but scored six runs in the innings. Tim Pestoor got the victory throwing five innings allowing four hits and striking out four. AJ Egeler was 2-3 with a double and two RBI. Ryan McAfee was 2-3 with a RBI and two runs.

Portage Central 5-8 Kalamazoo Central 3-2 – Cole Schaefer and Jared VanderBor both were very good on the mound getting wins. Schaefer went six innings striking out 11 and VanderBor also went six innings striking out sevem

Shelby 6-3 Whitehall 3-5 – Spencer Peters went the distance for Shelby in game one to get the win allowing three hits and striking out ten. Cheston Manns got the win in game two for Whitehall also going the distance allowing seven hits and striking out five.

Shrine Catholic 10 Marine City 0 – Cam Cavazos and Nick Pollack combined to throw a five inning no hitter. Cavazos went 3.1 innings striking out six and Pollack struck out three. Cavazos doubled and scored a run and Drake Eckert drove in two runs.

Shrine Catholic 11 Marine City 0 – Connor Francek threw a five inning one hitter to get the win, striking out 12. Julian Ernst was 2-3 with two RBI and two runs scored and Cam Cavazos was 3-4 with a doubled and two runs scored. Drake Ecker drove in two runs and Cooper Fields was 3-3 with a RBI and two runs.

Southgate Anderson 7 Trenton 5 – Anderson added three insurance runs in the top of the seventh, they would need those as Trenton scored twice in the bottom of the frame. Greg Galetto led the way offensively going 3-4 with a double, two RBI, and a run scored. Shane Freitag was 2-4 with a double, RBI and two runs. Josh Lockwood threw five innings to get the win allowing three runs on six hits and striking out four.

Spring Lake 10 Fremont 7 – Jorge Lozano got the win throwing four innings allowing two earned run, three hits, and striking out seven. Jackson Batts was 3-3 with a double, triple, and two RBI. Michael Dillingham was 2-3 with a double and a RBI and Kyle Zietlow was 2-4 with a RBI.

Stevenson 14 John Glen 0 – Stevenson broke open the game with an 11 run third inning on their way to a five inning victory. Jason Rakowicz got the win throwing four innings allowing three hits and striking out seven. Mike Kanitra and Cody Coleman each went 2-2 with two RBI and two run scored. Rodney Bies was 2-2 with two RBI and a run scored and Josh Deyonker was 2-3 with two runs scored.

Wyoming Lee 10 Saugatuck 3 – Alex Favela threw a complete game allowing three runs on just one hit and striking out three.
