Daily Roundup: April 29 Games



Bishop Foley 21, Lutheran North 3- Foley took advantage of thirteen walks and pounded out ten hits.  Mike Murley and Garrett Schilling both had two hits while,  Nate Grys drove in three runs

Dexter 0, Ann Arbor Skyline 7- Skyline’s Jack Clark threw six innings of two-hit shutout baseball as Skyline downed Dexter.  Joel Frison drove in three runs for Skyline going 2-4 in the game.

Dexter 9, Ann Arbor Skyline 6- Brett Garwood, Mackay Little, and Cole Rize combined for five hits for Dexter and Brennan Maisch, normaly known as a pitcher, hit a homerun.

North Farmington 0, Farmington 2- North Farmington’s Sterling Sharp only gave up three hits but still suffered the loss to crosstown rival Farmington. Sharp went six innings and struck out six without allowing a walk.  Michigan State commit Connor Mohr had a double for Farmington. 

Livonia Stevenson 3, Plymouth 2- Mike Vomastek and Travis Harvey each had two hits for Stevenson. Jake Semak went 6.1 innings and only allowed two runs.

Tecumseh 3, Ann Arbor Huron 2- In a pitchers duel, Techumseh’s Phil Carey outlasted Huron’s Dom DiGiovine. Carey went eight innings and stuck out four.  DiGiovine went 7.1 innings for Huron.  In extra innings,  Michael Savoia knocked in a run and Carey finished it out in the bottom of the eighth.

Tecumseh 3, Ann Arbor Huron 8- Huron’s Demetrius Sims pounded out two hits to help lead the River Rats.  Sims had both a double and a triple.  Jacob Britt homered for Tecumseh but it wasn’t enough.  Huron’s Jonathan Weatherspoon ended up with the win on the mound by working five innings and only surrendering two runs.

Trenton 0, Southgate Anderson 8- Southgate Anderson’s Josh Lockwood threw a complete game shutout striking out 11.  For Trenton JTConti was good at the plate but struggled on the mound.  Conti had two hits but allowed four runs.

Stoney Creek 10, Rochester Adams 8- Eric Gilgenbach and Joe Cox both went deep for Stoney Creek.  Stoney Creek spotted Adams seven runs in the first inning but slowly chipped away and finally pulled off the comeback.  Kyle Schweiger went 3-5 for Stoney Creek as well.

West Bloomfield 10, Bloomfield Hills Andover 6-Sophomore Robbie Jones got the win for West Bloomfield.  He retired fourteen straight at one point. Junior Daiki Nishioka had a big day at the plate went 3-4 at the plate.  Jones also helped himself at the plate as well going 3-3.

Howell 7, Waterford Mott 0- Todd Bonniver went 3-for-3 at the plate for Waterford Mott.  Howell’s Austin Palo had a big day hitting a two-run blast and picked up the win on the mound throwing a complete game.

Southfield-Lathrup 13, Oak Park 3- Johnny Slater hit another homerun and went 2-for-3 driving in four runs. Eric Langford struck out 10 in his five innings of work.

Mona Shores 6, Spring Lake 5- Mona Shores Joe Kostrzewa picked up win in a wild one.  Mona Shores had to come from behind and needed a three run top of the sixth to finally win.

Paw Paw 4 Allegan 1- Paw Paw’s Jeff Burch threw a no hitter.  Allegan scored their one run on a leadoff walk, a sacrifice bunt and a dropped third strike.  Kevin Suwarsky went a perfect 4-4 at the plate.

Edwardsburg 2, South Haven 9- Ryan Dorrow threw a complete game gem for South Haven. Dorrow struck out 12 hitters over seven innings of work and only allowed one hit.  Dorrow didn’t stop there as he helped himself by launching a homerun in the 9-2 win. Maris Marazita was one of the bright spots for Edwardsburg going 1-2 with a double.

Midland Bullock Creek 16, Chesaning 0- Keegan Akin launched a grandslam for Bullock Creek in a 16-0 rout.  He also threw three no-hit innings and struck out all nine batters faced.

Portage Central 15, Vicksburg 3- Western Michigan commit Nate Schneider hit a homerun in the Portage Central win.  Gavin Porter and Nick Corbit each contributed two RBI as well.

Chelsea 0, Saline 5- AJ Korzuck worked well on the mound earning the victory in Game 1.  Krozuck went six innings and struck out four. He also had two RBI at the plate while Michael Hendrickson chipped in one of his own.

Chelsea 7, Saline 3- Chelsea took Game 2 powered by Michael Steinhauer.  He had three RBI for the Bulldogs.  Scott Crews and Luke Hollandsworth also had two hits.
