We would like to thank all who participated in the Michigan Fall Prospect Program at Oakland. This was an opportunity for the class of 2017-2020 prospects to be put on college radars.

The Arms

Kyle Jones, 2018 RHP/OF De La Salle
Scouting Report: A 6-foot-2, 165-pound RHP prospect works with an easy tempo while pausing during his waist high leg lift. He uses a short, quick arm motion with easy effort throwing from a high-¾ arm angle. Fastball sat 82-84 mph, a sharp 74-75 mph curve with depth and a sinking 77-79 mph changeup.

Andrew Oehmke, 2018 RHP L’Anse Creuse
Scouting Report: 6-foot-5, 185-pound RHP pitching prospect pitches with an upbeat tempo using a high leg lift while throwing downhill. Has natural movement on his pitches that tend to dip and cut at times. Fastball sat 80-83 mph, 11/5 angle 71-73 mph curve and a fading 75-76 mph changeup.

Wendel Bruton, 2020 LHP/1B Montrose
Scouting Report: 5-foot-9, 150-pound 2020 prospect shows the makings of a very good pitcher. Has good command while using clean mechanics on the mound. Throws from a ¾ arm angle falling towards the 3rd baseline after delivering. Fastball sat 66-69 mph with good run, 59-60 mph big breaking curve that shows the makings of a potential out-pitch.

Defensive Standouts

Jared Ryan, 2019 OF/C Fenton
Scouting Report: 6-foot- 2, 190-pound prospect is one of the top defenders and players in the 2019 class. Has a physically developed frame along with raw ability. Behind the plate he received well showing good plate awareness. Popped a 1.92-2.04. Also showed range in the OF, potentially being a solid corner OF. Threw 81 mph with carry from the OF.

Justin Scheuer, 2017 C/1B Fraser
Scouting Report: 6-foot-3, 185-pound switch hitting catching prospect. Justin is the vocal leader all colleges look for. He can be heard and knows the game. Understanding how to frame while showing solid receiving skills behind the plate. He popped a 1.99-2.15 to 2B with an accurate throwing arm.

Brandon Cooper, 2017 OF Ann Arbor Huron
Scouting Report: 5-foot-10, 165-pound athletic prospect may be the most athletic prospect in our fall league. He moves well with good speed and agility. While in the OF takes correct routes, showing good range. Throws sidearm 81 mph from the OF.
