Michigan Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Week 4

We would like to thank all who participated in the Michigan Fall Prospect Program at Macomb Community College. This was an opportunity for the class of 2017, 2018 and 2019 squads to be put on college radars.

Fall Prospect Program Rundown:

Michigan Insider: Fall Prospect Program - Week 4

Team 1

Evan Czarnecki, 2B/OF, Saugatuck, 2018 - Showed good bat control hitting two singles, both to CF.

Alex Magrum, SS/2B, Farmington, 2017 - Magrum made a nice play at SS throwing a runner out at the plate attempting to score. Also singled to LF and RF driving in runs each time. Later drove a triple to RF scoring another run.

Matthew Lane, 3B/2B, Farmington, 2017 - Lane had a great day at the plate. He smoked back to back doubles with one scoring a run. Later hit an RBI single to RF and stole 3B.

Cameron Carpenter, 3B/2B, Flushing, 2019 - Carpenter is a spark plug on the diamond. He had 2 RBIs on the day. Also crushed a double to LF and singled up the middle.

Zachary Jacobs, 3B/SS, Walled Lake Western, 2018 - Jacobs showed good range at 3B while hitting an RBI single to CF.

Justin Scheuer, C/1B, Fraser, 2017 - Switch hitting catcher showed his ability to handle the bat on both sides of the plate. He singled twice on the right side. On the left side he singled down the 1B line. Also had a RBI.

Andrew Oehmke, RHP, L’Anse Creuse North, 2018 (shown below) - Oehmke had a dominated performance on the mound. Going five innings striking out 13 batters allowing 2 hits.

Kyle Jones, RHP/OF, De La Salle, 2018 - Jones was his normal dominant self on the mound. Striking out 9 batters in 4 innings of work. Also added two singles and a double.

Robert Brenay, OF, Annapolis, 2018 - Brenay placed a perfect bunt single down the 1B line. Also beat out an infield single and had an RBI on the day.

Mack Martin, LHP/1B, Dexter, 2018 - Mack hit spots well on the mound and added a double at the plate.

Pitchers

Evan Czarnecki, 2B/OF, Saugatuck, 2018 - FB 70-72, CB 58-60

Kyle Jones, RHP/OF, De La Salle, 2018 - FB 84-86, CB 77-78

Mack Martin, LHP/1B, Dexter, 2018 - FB 71-74, CB 65-68

Andrew Oehmke, RHP, L’Anse Creuse North, 2018 - FB 82-84, CB 73-76

Team 2

Travis Carson, SS/RHP, Sand Creek, 2018 (shown below) - Carson drove a single to LF also threw quality innings on the mound.

Jon Killewald, LHP/1B, Clarkston, 2017 - Killewald showed good defensive versatility playing both corner infield spots as well as OF. At the plate he had 2 RBI singles.

Noah Miller, SS/2B, University Liggett, 2018 - Miller showed excellent range yet again. On a play in the 1st game while playing SS he went in the hole throwing a runner out at 1B. Singled to LF. Also showed great instincts on the bases taking extra bags routinely.

Nicholas Miller, RHP/C, Willamston, 2018 - Miller had a solid showing on the mound with a great breaking ball. At the plate he singled to CF.

Jared Ryan, C/OF/3B, Fenton, 2019 - Ryan displayed why he is a top prospect behind the plate nailing a runner attempting to steal on him. At the plate he singled up the middle then stole 2B and 3B.

Johnny Tikkanen, OF/RHP, Sterling Heights Stevenson 2018 - Johnny went 3 inning on the mound striking out 6 batters. Also drove a double to CF.

Johnny Tikkanen, OF/RHP, Sterling Heights Stevenson 2018 - FB 77-79, CB 67-68

Cameron Walsh, C/RHP, Memphis, 2020 - FB 67-68, CB 56-57

Dawson Stier, SS/RHP, Memphis, 2019 - FB 69-71, CB 60-61

Nicholas Miller, RHP/C, Willamston, 2018 - FB 77-78, CB 68-69.

Jon Killewald, LHP/1B, Clarkston, 2017 - FB 61-63

Travis Carson, SS/RHP, Sand Creek, 2018 - FB 69-73, CB 56-57

Team 3

Brandon Cooper, OF/RHP, Ann Arbor Huron, 2017 - Cooper ran down balls routinely in the outfield taking away hits. One of the most athletic prospects in the league. He crushed a triple to CF and added two singles.

Andrew Gilpin, 1B, Brighton, 2018 -  Gilpin had a day at the plate totaling multiple hits. Had a single, two doubles and a triple. One of the hottest hitters on the day.

Blake Mial, SS/2B, Ann Arbor Skyline, 2017 - Mial made several plays look routine at SS. Had an infield single showing good wheels. Also stole a bag.

Alec Morse, SS/C, New Lothrop, 2017 - Morse threw well on the mound while adding a single down the RF line at the plate.
