Michigan Notebook: More Commitments Roll In, See Who Is Going Where

By Mike Penn
Michigan Director of Scouting

Happy Holidays indeed for several more players around the state who have made commitments to play at the next level.

Sammy Stevens (Brother Rice HS)- Stevens has finally landed.  He chose to attend Georgetown this past week.  The left-hand hitting Stevens is an outstanding student and a leader of the Brother Rice team.  The 6-foot-2 catcher can swing it and more importantly does a great job handling a very talented pitching staff that includes several Division I commitments and signees.

Hunter Green  (Birmingham Seaholm HS) -Green, who was recently featured in the article Michigan Insider: 7 Versatile Players Left On The Board because of his versatility, committed to Chipola CC recently.  An impressive athlete, Green will certainly help any program and has the rare ability to switch-hit.

Anthony DiPonio (Divine Child HS)- DiPonio, like Green, was recently featured in the same versatility article. He too has chosen to go the junior college route and will be attending Kellogg CC.  DiPonio most likely will be a middle infielder that will also catch when needed.

Noah Beck (Stoney Creek HS)- Beck performed well at the Unsigned Senior Games back in August. The versatile Beck is a good runner (7.10) and contact hitter with a repeatable approach. He has committed to Saginaw Valley.

Jacob Gividen (Portage Northern HS)- Gividen recently chose to attend Indiana Wesleyan.  The high-pitchability righty still has more velocity to come down the road but he is known for being a good competitor and a winner in addition to his outstanding control.

Max Harring (Grosse Pointe North HS)- Big-bodied 6-foot-3 right-hand pitcher and first baseman chose to attend Bossier Parrish CC in Louisiana.  Harring continues a Louisiana theme this year, as he is the second player from Michigan to head to the Bayou state, as Tone Jacobs (Bay City John Glenn HS) will be heading to Grambling.
