Michigan Spotlight Game: St. Johns vs Mt. Pleasant - Doubleheader

Michigan Spotlight Game: St. Johns vs Mt. Pleasant - Doubleheader

St. Johns and Mt. Pleasant squared off in a non-conference doubleheader that saw both teams win low scoring games.

2017 Adam Proctor drove in a run in the bottom of the first on a sacrifice fly to give St. Johns an early 1-0 in game one.

That lead would last until the top of the fifth when Mt. Pleasant tied the game on a RBI single by 2018 Wyatt Cook.

St. Johns retook the lead on a RBI triple by 2017 Ethan Webster in the bottom of the fifth and added an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth on a solo home run by 2017 Dace Ferden to complete a 3-1 win.

2017 Ethan Huhn went the distance for St. Johns, striking out six over seven innings, while 2017 Logan Buczkowski took the tough luck loss for Mt. Pleasant, striking out 10 in six innings.

Mt. Pleasant won a pitchers duel in game two, scoring two runs in the top of the seventh and two more in the eighth to win 4-2.

2017 Quinn Humphrey had a pair of RBI singles for Mt. Pleasant, while 2017 Obie Ricumstrict hit a single and scored the game winning run in the eighth.

2017 Caleb Paksi had a RBI single and came around to score in the bottom of the fifth to account for both runs for St. Johns.

2017 Cam Mitchell picked up the win for Mt. Pleasant, striking out 16 in seven innings of work.
