PBR Michigan Spotlight Game: Traverse City West vs Gaylord

Traverse City - Traverse City West and Gaylord faced off Thursday in a Big North Conference match-up that could play a big role in the run for the conference title, and west won by a score of 3-0.

As he has been doing all season, 2016 RHP/OF Keegan Kenny, a Saginaw Valley State commit, dominated on the mound. After he worked a 1-2-3 first inning, TC West was able to gather three hits in the bottom half of the first inning but could scratch nothing across as 2016 RHP Robbie Hansen of Gaylord was able to erase one of the runners with a pickoff.

After Gaylord was able to get it’s only hit of the game in the second inning, Hansen was able to strand two runners in the bottom half who both reached on walks.

Kenny worked back-to-back clean innings in the third and fourth, before TC West was able to score the first run of the game on a throwing error by the catcher to allow 2016 1B/OF Jared Roth to come home after he reached on a one-out single.

Kenny helped his own cause after the throwing error with a two-out RBI single and then was followed up by an RBI single by 2016 OF Nick Brzezinski.

Those three runs in the home half of the fourth inning were all Kenny needed as he retired nine out of the last ten batters he faced, finishing the day with two strikeouts.

Player of the Game: Jared Roth - 2-for-2, 1 R, 1 BB
