PBR Michigan started up on April 10th, 2012 as seen here. Brent Alwine then took the reigns in Michigan to start 2014, later handing off the reigns to Jake Sabol, who handed it off to Andy Pascoe, who since has given the reigns to Aaron Wilson.

Now that Michigan is fully entrenched as a top PBR state, we look to continue our climb while continuing to provide top notch baseball coverage in Michigan. 

Aaron, PBR Michigan Director of Scouting, along with Dylan Hefflinger, Michigan Editor in Chief/Regional Scout take a look back at the year in review and put together a list of the top stories for the year 2016.

Today we take a look at Michael Mokma.

PBR Michigan's Top Stories for the Year 2016: Player of the Year Michael Mokma

There were numerous players who were up for the Player of the Year in the state for 2016. That honor however went to Holland Christian RHP Michael Mokma, who had a dominant 2016 spring campaign.

The current Michigan State Spartan Mokma, helped lead his Holland Christian team to the Division 2 State Championship.

2016 Spring Success: Michael Mokma was the state's most dominant player this season. The Michigan State University commit had a season for the ages. He had a 15-0 record, 1.06 ERA, 120 strikeouts, while adding a .430 batting average, 4 home runs and 34 RBI in 153 plate appearances. Standing 6-foot-7, 220 pound RHP/1B helped lead Holland Christian to the Division 2 State title victory with an 14 strikeout performance to cap off a great high school career. He also pitched two perfect games on the season.
