PBR Spotlight Game: Orchard Lake St. Mary's vs Detroit Catholic Central Game 1

Orchard Lake squared off against Catholic Central in a double-header. The Eaglets' arms proved to be to strong for the Shamrocks on this day as St. Mary's outscored Catholic Central by a total of 8-0

In the first game, St. Mary's were led by a stellar one hit performance from 2016 Scott Grant.

Catholic Central starter Sean Garcia (2016) cruised through the first two innings before running into trouble due to shaky defense.

In the top of the 3rd, Orchard Lake was able to scratch across their first two runs.

2016 Joe Carlini reached base thanks to an infield error. Back-to-back singles from 2017 Carter Macias and 2015 Campbell Kinch followed to load the bases. 

A bases loaded walk to 2016 Drake Titus scored Carlini. Later 2016 Mason Vaughn hit a sacrifice fly to right field that scored Macias to put the Eaglets up 2-0.

During the following inning Orchard Lake was able to pull together two more runs.

2016 University of Michigan commit Harrison Salter led-off the inning with a single to centerfield and was able to advance to third due to an overthrown pickoff attempt. 2016's Griffin Sheposh and Bruce Kudela were both walked, loading the bases. Carlini was hit by a pitch allowing Salter to score. Macias then executed the perfect squeeze, scoring Sheposh for the 2nd run of the inning and put the Eaglets on top 4-0.

Orchard Lake was able to score their final run in the 7th due to a lead off walk to Carlini followed by a RBI double from Titus.

Grant dominated the Shamrocks from the opening pitch. Grant threw a one hit shutout, striking out seven in the process.

PBR Spotlight Game: Orchard Lake St. Marys vs  Catholic Central Game 2

In game two against #15 rated prospect in the 2016 class Grant Hartwig, Orchard Lake was able to take advantage of early defensive miscues.

Kinch and Titus reached base on infield errors. Kinch then scored on a base hit by Vaughn. Titus later scored thanks to a single from Salter. Vaughan scored the final run on a squeeze by Sheposh to put the Eaglets on top 3-0 in the 1st inning.

After the shaky first inning Hartwig settled in only allowing just two hits after the 1st inning while striking out five.

Orchard Lake's 2015 Greg Loukinen and 2016 Titus combined to throw a two-hit shutout.
