We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Michigan's Underclass Preview West Showcase. This was a great opportunity for prospects in the class of 2016, '17 and '18 to showcase their talents.

Underclass Preview West Showcase: Complete Evaluations

Adam Proctor, C/3B, St. Johns HS, 2017

6-foot, 213-pound prospect. Emerging as one of the top prospects in the 2017 class and overall in the state of Michigan. Great stance and set up behind the plate with above average receiving and blocking skills. Plus arm strength with excellent accuracy on throws to second base. Good carry on throws for a pop times of 1.93-2.04. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Relaxed confident hitter at the plate from the left side. Open to even stance with quick strong hands creating plus bat speed in a gap to gap approach. Bat speed was registered at 89 mph, but has been seen in the mid-90s consistently.

Andrew Doorn, RHP/OF, Rockford HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 165-pound prospect. Loose, high-¾ arm action slightly falling to first base side. Fastball was 74-77 mph. 12/6 curveball with plus break at 60-65 mph and changeup at 68-72 mph. Soft hands with good body control in the outfield, long arm action at 76 mph. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance, does a great job of staying the baseball and getting good extension through his swing. Bat speed registered at 75 mph.

Austin Krzeminski, C/OF, Coldwater HS, 2016

6-foot, 180-pound prospect. Good flexibility behind the plate, with soft hands in receiving and good mobility in blocking the baseball. Pop times of 2.06-2.11. Good actions in the outfield with footwork and glove, threw 81 mph from the outfield. Ran a 7.40 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance with short stride in pull approach with quick direct hand path to the baseball. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Brendan Spangler, 2B/3B, Coldwater HS, 2016

6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect. Fundamental loose actions at short stop with soft hands at shortstop, clean transfers throwing 71 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance, slight uphill swing with some pop in his bat to the pull side. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Chase Medendorp, C/SS, Zeeland East HS, 2018

5-foot-6, 142-pound prospect. Good approach to the baseball at shortstop, fields the ball deep under his body. Threw 75 mph across the infield. Excellent job receiving the baseball behind the plate with good transfers for pop times of 2.00-2.04. Ran a 7.37 60-yard dash. Balanced stance at the plate with a short compact swing in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 78 mph.

Cobe Huizenga, 2B, Zeeland East HS, 2018

5-foot-6, 140-pound prospect. Loose athletic actions at shortstop creates good angles to the baseball setting himself up to make good throws to first base. Threw 68 mph across the infield. Clean glove and footwork in the outfield throwing 71 mph. Ran a 7.08 60-yard dash. Hits from a crouched position at the plate doing a great job of keeping his hands inside the baseball. Bat speed registered at 79 mph.

Cody Tone, RHP/1B, Schoolcraft HS, 2016

6-foot-5, 200-pound prospect. Over-the-top arm action with long levers creating good leverage on the hitter. Fastball was 78-81 mph, 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 66-69 mph, and changeup with good sink at 73-76 mph. Works through ball well in the outfield with good footwork and glove, threw 81 mph. Clean actions with footwork and glove at first base, threw 83 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.45 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance with a  short stride with good use of lower half with a gap-to-gap approach. Bat speed registered at 83 mph.

Collin Tone, 1B, Schoolcraft HS, 2017

6-foot-3, 255-pound prospect. Soft hands with good footwork approaching ground balls and good footwork around first base. Threw 70 mph across the infield. Ran a 8.53 60-yard dash. Narrow stance creates good separation, good balance creating plus power to the pull side.  Bat speed registered at 78 mph.

Dawson Bartlett, SS, Harper Creek HS, 2018

6-foot-2, 160-pound prospect. Loose, athletic actions with his range, footwork, and glove at shortstop. Short-¾ arm slot throwing 67 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.19 60-yard dash. Athletic stance at the plate with good rhythm in his load and stride, stays inside ball well in a middle of the field approach. Bat speed registered at 74 mph.

Dawson Butcher, 3B, Pennfield HS, 2018

5-foot-9, 156-pound prospect. Soft hands fielding the ball deep at third base. Long arm action throwing 65 mph across the infield. Ran a 8.10-60 yard dash. Tall upright stance, short stride with a level swing making a lot of solid contact. Bat speed registered at 71 mph.

Eli Spencer, SS/3B, Kenowa Hills HS, 2017

6-foot, 175-pound prospect. Good actions with footwork and glove, fields ball out in front of body well. Threw 71 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.72 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance with good weight back and through his swing, creates a powerful swing in a gap-to-gap approach. Bat speed registered at 77 mph.

Haydin Brandt, LHP, Portland HS, 2017

5-foot-11, 145-pound prospect. Loose, high-¾ arm slot with clean mechanics from the left side. Fastball with some movement at 75-77 mph. Curveball with gradual break at 67-68 mph. Changeup with plus sink at 69-71 mph. Good young left-handed prospect to follow.

Noah Hecht, OF, Portage Northern HS, 2018

5-foot-10, 175-pound prospect. Plus actions in the outfield with range, footwork, and glove. Clean transfers throwing 74 mph. Ran a 7.30 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance with a short stride, good balance in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 80 mph

Jacob Newhouse, C/3B, Traverse City West HS, 2016

5-foot-9, 165-pound prospect. Good setup and stance behind the plate, receives and blocks the baseball very well. Short quick arm action with pop times of 2.04-2.16. Clean fluid actions at third base with his footwork and glove, threw 67 mph across the infield. Closed off stance with a short stride at the plate, compact swing in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 75 mph.

Jafet Cruz, C/OF, Jenison HS, 2017

5-foot-7, 160-pound prospect. Good glove actions and footwork in the outfield, threw 74 mph. Good setup behind the plate with strong receiving hands. Pop times of 1.97-2.08. Ran a 7.22 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance with a short stride, used lower half well creating a line drive swing to all fields. Bat speed registered at 82 mph.

Joe Stanford, LHP, Hudsonville HS, 2016

6-foot-3, 170-pound prospect. High-¾ arm slot with good balance in his delivery from the left side of the mound. Fastball with some movement at 77-79 mph. Curveball has good late bite at 62-65 mph. Changeup with some sink at 64-68 mph.

Lachlan Sawall, 2B/C, Mattawan HS, 2016

5-foot-11, 150-pound prospect. Loose, athletic actions at shortstop with soft hands, threw 72 mph across the field. Wide receiving base behind the plate with clean footwork and transfers for pop times of 2.10-2.20 Ran a 7.50 60-yard dash. Hits from a quite crouched position at the plate, with an inside-outside swing plane. Bat speed registered at 76 mph.

Nathan Roede, 3B/1B, Byron Center HS, 2017

6-foot-1, 210-pound prospect. Creates good rhythm with actions on the infield, works hands out in front of body well and keeps momentum through the baseball following his throws well. Threw 73 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.23 60-yard dash. Strong aggressive hitter with an open to even stance in a fluid gap-to-gap approach. Bat speed registered at 87 mph.

Noel Sheffer, RHP/1B, Reeths Puffer HS, 2017

6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect. Loose, low-¾ arm slot. Fastball shows good sink at 69-71 mph, 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 64-66 mph, and changeup with sink at 65-69 mph. Good actions with glove and footwork at first base, threw 63 mph across the infield. Ran a 8.10 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance at the plate, lets the ball travel deep into his swing in a pull approach. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.

Tony Yambor, RHP/OF, Bedford HS, 2016

6-foot-4, 180-pound prospect. Quick, high-¾ arm slot with good tempo on the mound. Fastball was 79-81 mph. 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 64-68 mph and changeup with good downward sink at 70-72 mph. Good actions with footwork and glove in the outfield, with strong throws at 83 mph. Ran a 7.42 60-yard dash. Tall upright stance with strong quick hands in a gap-to-gap approach. Bat speed registered at 85 mph.

Travis Kuhfeldt, 2B/RHP, Caledonia HS, 2017

5-foot-4, 125-pound prospect. High, short-¾ arm slot with good balance in his delivery. Fastball has some run at 73-75 mph. 11/5 curveball with gradual break at 63-65 mph. Kept changeup down well at 63-67 mph. Plus actions with footwork and glove at shortstop, threw 69 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.66 60-yard dash. Open-to-even stance at the plate with a fluid short compact swing, hands work direct towards baseball. Bat speed registered at 72 mph.

Tyler Randick, 3B/SS, Flushing HS, 2017

5-foot-10, 185-pound prospect. Smooth athletic actions with his footwork and glove on the infield, plus range laterally. Threw 71 mph across the infield. Ran a 7.34 60-yard dash. Athletic confident setup at the plate with quick strong hands in a line drive approach. Bat speed registered at 85 mph.

Zachary Karbowski, RHP, Portage Central HS, 2017

6-foot-1, 170-pound prospect. Loose, high-¾ arm slot with good balance in his delivery. Plus command of all three pitches. Fastball was 76-81 mph. 11/5 curveball with good downward movement at 67-71 mph. Changeup with good sink at 68-70 mph.
