2017 OUTLOOK
"The Sabers have a solid nucleus of pitching, infield, and outfield returning for the spring of 2017. Chris Isensee is expected to anchor the staff with help from juniors Josh Meyer, Sam Ludzack, Luke Budin, and Sam Fischer. Meyer and Isensee return with 1B experience, Tommy Keohen at 2B, and Zack Henderson at SS. Sam Meyer is the frontrunner at 3B, and Dawson Hensley the top prospect at catcher. The outfield returns the Sabers top two hitters in Evan Stark and Jack Sievers with the speed of Dylan Pass, Jacob Nelson, and Maxx Malone all in the mix. Sievers, Stark, and Keohen were all Section 2AAA All-Region performers last spring as the Sabers knocked off Minnetonka and Prior Lake, before succumbing to Edina and Eden Prairie in close games. All seniors and juniors will get their shot come spring with all-conference performers working their way into the line-up the past two seasons, coming off JV seasons the previous year, so the opportunities will present themselves for solid performances from all on the roster. The Sabers have recorded a 22-13 record their first two seasons in the SSC (2015 champions) and expect to be in the top half of the conference once again this spring." Head Coach Tom Schleper
