Evaluation:  6/20/16- 6-foot, 190-pound right-handed hitting 2-way player. 7.01 runner. Strong build. Raw hitting mechanics, shows ability to drive baseball with strength, uphill path and pull approach, 85 mph exit velocity. Average actions and athleticism in field, shows soft glove, and well above accuracy and carry to bag with good arm strength at 85 mph. Strike thrower on mound. Simple delivery. Repeats fastball well. Flashes life on fastball, on downhill plane, at 81-84 mph. Secondary is raw presently but shows promise with strength and athletic ability.

PBR: Why did you choose Minnesota-Duluth? 
WALETZKI: The school is a good fit for me and I really like the coach.

PBR: What other schools were you considering? 
WALETZKI: St. Thomas, Hamline, Augustana and University of Mary.

PBR: Where did the coaching staff first see you? How did your relationship develop with them? 
WALETZKI: The coach saw me at the PBR Top Prospect showcase and then I was invited to UMD's prospect camp.

PBR: Do you feel relieved now that the process is over and you can just focus on baseball and not deal with everything that goes into picking a school? 
WALETZKI: Yes, relieved and excited about my decision.

PBR: Was there one deciding factor that put your choice over the top? 
WALETZKI: The biggest factor was the coach. He was enthusiastic about meeting me and seeing me play and made me feel welcome.

PBR: Who has helped you the most to get to where you are today? 
WALETZKI: My dad has been coaching me since little league and still gets me out on the mound and into the batting cage.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process? Was it easy/difficult? 
WALETZKI: It wasn't difficult. I kept my options open and took my time visiting lots of schools.

PBR: What plans does the coaching staff have in store for you in your freshman season? 
WALETZKI: Hopefully I'll get an opportunity to play if I work hard and play well next fall.

PBR: What is your most memorable baseball moment to date? 
WALETZKI: I threw a no-hitter against Benilde in Legion ball.

PBR: Who is the best player that you have competed against?
WALETZKI: I have competed against a lot of talented baseball players in the Siebert Fall League.
