left-handed pitchers

Mitchell O’Connor, LHP, Bloomington Jefferson, 2015
6-foot-4, 210-pound left-handed pitcher. Highly projectable left-handed pitching prospect. 82-86 mph fastball with good tilt and run for strikes. Ball has life on end. Breaking ball shows flashes of being good pitch. Ultimately just doesn’t throw enough to gather feel and consistency. Doesn’t have big break but has tight rotation with late break. Changeup is firm at times with 1 plane run and plus command. Once he is able to pitch hard inside to RHH will have chance to be dominant. Late blooming prospect. Only 17 years old. Uncommitted……for now.

Scott Richardson, LHP, Burnsville, 2015
6-foot-1, 175-pound left-handed pitcher. Good sequence and rhythm in mechanics. Has tilt on fastball with varying cut and run action. Breaking ball has tight 12/6 rotation at times when released out front. Otherwise loose and arm side. Had best changeup in event. Fastball arm speed and repeatedly threw down and away for strikes to right-handed hitters with fade. Not overpowering velocity but type of lefty that wins in college. Calm demeanor. Strike thrower. Average breaking ball with ability to pound away with fastball/change combo.

Elias Morison, LHP, Minneapolis Washburn, 2015
5-foot-10, 175-pound left-handed pitcher. Shows some tilt and downhill plane on fastball. Ball runs and sinks for strikes. 12/6 shape on breaking ball with late break. Changeup is straight- does good job of throwing for strikes in bottom of zone. Arm is clean. Ball comes out with minimal effort. Hides ball behind body. Deceptive and ball jumps on hitter. Three pitches for strikes. Average build with chance to add strength and velocity.

Right-handed pitchers

Jeremy Thorson, RHP/SS, Sauk Rapids, 2015
6-foot, 185-pound 2-way player. 7.09 60 time. Future pitcher in college. Two piece arm action on mound. Short arm action with deception. Ball jumps out of hand at hitter. Fastball showed varying run and cut. Curveball had 11/5 rotation with sharp late break. Changeup was thrown at fastball arm speed with ASR for strikes. Body projects to add 15-20 pounds early in process.  Middle-back end bullpen type arm with quality 3 pitch mix with effort and not ideal arm action. Could see him being a 90 mph type arm by end of freshman year in college.

Jacob Lopez, RHP, Park Senior, 2015
5-foot-10, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. Works to get square and in-line with catcher. Lands open and front side tends to leak early. Fastball is straight but jumps on hitter late. 12/6 shape on breaking ball with late break. Changeup was plus pitch thrown at fastball arm speed with late ASR. Arm works well and is fast with considerable hand speed. Interesting follow into Spring season. Shows ability and athleticism. Three pitches for strikes. Strong, thick build.

Parker Hanson, RHP/1B, Hawley, 2015
6-foot- 170-pound 2-way player. Very athletic player from Hawley.  Continues to show fast twitch athleticism across the field. Showed decrease in most statistical categories since August event due to heavy football workload. Great feel for pitches on mound. Future will be on mound at college level. Has intangibles. Projects very well. Good chance to be mid-upper 80’s by the Spring.

Jordan Loiland, RHP/SS, Bagley, 2015
6-foot-5, 165-pound 2-way player. 7.22 60 time. Projectable body on mound. Good sequence of upper and lower half. Front leg tends to swing in and out of balance point causing him to land open. Athleticism in delivery. Fastball shows life. Breaking ball has 11/5 shape with gradual break. Arm works well. Quality rhythm in delivery. Present average feel for secondary pitches. Would be good project pitcher for college program. Easy to dream on velocity improvements. Has considerable ceiling.

Ryan Masui, 3B/RHP, Minnetonka, 2015
5-foot-8, 175-pound 2-way player. 7.41 60 time. Fastball shows slight run on mound. Throws heavy breaking ball with sharp break. Changeup has fastball arm speed with ASR for strikes. Compact quick twitch body with some effort in release. Has ability to get on mound and play catch to spots with 2-3 pitches.

Lance Kilde, RHP/1B, Robbinsdale Armstrong, 2015
6-foot-1, 200-pound 2-way player. 7.59 60 time. Good balance and rhythm in delivery. Arm works from over-the-top slot. Stride is slight across body and long. Fastball is downhill with slight sinking action for strikes. 12/6 shape on curveball with late break. Changeup is thrown near fastball arm speed with ASR in zone.

Kyle Davis, RHP/3B, Hopkins, 2015
6-foot-3, 190-pound 2-way player. 7.81 60 time. Balanced mechanics on mound. Tends to travel across the rubber. Lands across body creating slight hitch in delivery. Works from over-the-top slot with occasional heavy action on fastball with downhill plane.  Fastball was 75-78 mph. Curveball was loose at 66-69 mph. Changeup was up in zone and arm side at 73-75 mph.

Connor Lejcher, RHP, East Ridge, 2015
6-foot-1, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Delivery shows balance and control. Short two piece arm action. High slot. Fastball works downhill. Hides ball from hitter. Ball shows life and action at end. Fastball was 73-76 mph. Curveball had 11/5 shape with sharp break late in zone. Changeup thrown at fastball arm speed with sink and ASR. Three pitches for strikes. Competitive in zone.

Kyle Schnichels, RHP/SS, Academy of Holy Angels, 2015
6-foot-2, 155-pound 2-way player. 7.75 60 time. Shows balance in delivery. Will collapse in balance point causing himself to pitch uphill at times. Lands inline and closed to plate allowing arm to work. Some quickness to arm. Slight run on fastball. Curveball and slider were relatively same pitch with 12/6 shape and gradual break. Changeup had near fastball arm speed with slight ASR for strikes.

Shane Benson, C/RHP, St. Francis, 2015
6-foot-2, 175-pound 2-way player. 7.56 60 time. On the mound worked from multiple arm angles with all pitches. Arm works best from high-3/4 slot. Fastball shows heavy bearing action in to right-handed hitters. Curveball tended to want to back up into hitter. Knuckleball had average action with gradual toppling break.

Timothy Rapp, C/RHP, East Ridge, 2015
6-foot-4, 185-pound 2-way player. 7.38 60 time. Fastball is straight and in zone. Curveball has 12/6 shape with gradual break. Lacks feel for changeup. Lands on stiff front leg causing him to fall down mound. Short arm action from over-the-top slot showing slight downhill action on fastball.
