Prep Baseball Report MN works to provide the best coverage of prep baseball in the state. Our main mission is to serve as a platform for student athletes looking to reach the next level on the baseball field. Jarod plays for a deep Minnetonka squad that will be ready to roll again when spring comes around. He is a humble kid who packs his lunch every time he hits the field, regardless of the situation. He understands what it takes to get better and is extremely coachable. We wish Jarod the best!

6/20/17- 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.5 runner. Body load, clean path through contact, consistently barreled balls to both gaps, lean projectable hitter, 85 mph exit velocity. Above avg. actions in field, works around and through baseball, soft hands with clean exchange, quick release on throws, accurate with carry to bag, 79 mph arm across infield.

3/20/17- 6-foot-1, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. #81 ranked player in MN 2018 class. 7.7 runner. Open stance, knee to knee trigger, deep load with arm bar creating length to contact, balanced through swing and works gaps well, solid hitter that should improve with added strength, 87 mph exit velocity. Athletic actions in field with active feet and sure hands, plays with rhythm and tempo, projects at position if speed improves, 77 mph arm strength across infield. Interesting follow in 2018 class.


7/6/16- 5-foot-11, 165-pound right-handed hitting shortstop. 7.68 runner. Tall athletic stance. Easy actions in box. Clean swing path. Consistent solid hard, flashes of above avg. pop, and shows ability to use whole field, 78 mph exit velocity. Above avg. feet, hands and arm action. Moves extremely well in the field. Accurate arm to bag with 72 mph arm strength. Strong Follow in MN 2018 class. Tools need to improve with maturity and additional strength; present ability evident.



PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?
It has been a variety of Division I, II, and III from around the country.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future?
I have visited a few schools, mainly around the Midwest. I am looking to visit more schools in various regions around the country.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)
I am looking for a school with solid academics. Specifically, I am also looking for a school with a program involving business management.

PBR: What were some of your highlights during your junior year?
One highlight of my Junior year was being on a team ranked #1 for a majority of the season. We have high standards of ourselves and it’s always nice when we perform how we know we can.

PBR: What are your personal and team goals for this upcoming season?
I think that our team will be very solid in all aspects this year. Our main team goal will be to win state, and I would love to help lead that team.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?
I play basketball, but my claim to fame is that I also play a mean game of ping pong.

PBR: What is your ACT and GPA?
My GPA is 3.98 and I am currently preparing to take my ACT in October.
