OUTLOOK
The Union Wildcats return four starters in the field and one on the mound from a 7-16 team in 2014.  Coach Bailey will have a good mix of players in the junior/senior class, with two sophomores that will play a big role in the teams success in 2015.  Sophomore catcher, Drew Reed will be among the four returning to the starting line-up.  As a freshman, Reed batted .348 with 14 RBI and will called on to be an impact player this season and will be a top catcher in the conference. Another returning starter is Tanner Bunch, a senior 2B.  Last season, Bunch batted .294 with seven RBI in 57 plate appearances.  Senior Nick Eads will return at 3B and junior Blake Pickard will be return in the outfield.   Junior RHP, Jerod Mattingly will be the top returning starter on the mound for the Wildcats in 2014.  As a sophomore, Mattingly finished with a 1-1 record with nine strikeouts in 14 innings of work and a 4.00 ERA.  Defensively, the Wildcats will have a top defensive outfielder in junior Dillon Breeden and will have a increased role in 2015.  Overall, Union will be inexperienced this season but will look to the new talent to lead them up the ladder in the Four Rivers Conference.
