Season Outlook
The 2016 senior class has a chance to set the total wins record for a group at Forsyth, breaking a record set by last years team at 150 wins.  Coach Julian surpassed the 200 win mark last fall, entering his seventh year has head coach.  The Panthers have a history of winning, and the 2016 season should be no different.  Senior Layn Hurst will lead the way.  He will be in the middle of the Panther line up.  He is a power threat can change a game with swing. Hurst is also a good baserunner and fielder and will anchor down the defense.  Senior Jett Schanda has game changing speed and has developed into one of the top lead-off hitters in the area.  His ability to on base and take an extra base will be a huge part of the Panther success this spring.  The Panthers have depth on the mound.  Look for Austin Jasper, Caleb Terrell and Dylan Jordan to all have an impact at the mound.  Forsyth will be solid defensively this spring All-Conference players Austin Padgett, Tyler Groves and Austin Jasper returning.  Also look for Chris Cole to add defensive depth behind the plate and at 3B.  If the Panthers can stay consistent up and down the lineup and execute offensively, they will win a lot of games this spring.  They have pitching and defense to go a long way in 2016.
