Season Outlook
Head Coach Bryan Austin led the Indians to 22 win in 2015, a school record, and to the brink of the Class 5 Final Four.  An extra innings loss to Eureka in State Quarterfinals ended their season.  Jackson will be a legitimate contender in 2016, returning five position players and three starters from a year ago.  Junior SS Jarrett Newell blasted 11 doubles in 2015, third on the school's all-time single season list, and received All-Conference and All-District honors.  The Indians staff had a team ERA of 1.80 led by Junior RHP and Dallas Baptist commit, Colten Weber.  Senior RHP Gavon Turner will add to the depth on the mound, bringing post season experience to the staff.  A pair of talented position players will round out the line up, junior OF Tyler Knight and senior C/INF Tristan Burdette.  Knight, at 6-foot-1 165-pounds, runs a 6.72 60 and will be a threat on the bases and a solid defender.  Overall, look for the Indians to make another strong run the Class 5 Final Four behind an experienced staff, solid defense and balanced line up.
