As  we  prepare  for  the  upcoming  2016  high  school  season,  we  will  be  taking  a
preseason glimpse at programs from around the state.

Season Outlook
Mountain Grove finished 22-7 and lost in the state playoff to the eventual state champions.  The Panthers look to get back to the state playoff and contend for the Class 3 state championship in 2016.  They open season as the #4 ranked team in Class 3 and look to defend their conference and district championships. Mountain Grove will ride the big arm of senior RHP Alex Moore, who finished 8-1 last year including a 2-hit shut-out in the district championship.  He will have plenty of defense behind him.  Senior SS DJ McNew is a rangy SS and was named All-District as a junior.  Junior INF Brock Coffman was an All-State selection in 2015 and junior catcher Treye Collins earned All-Conference honors.  The Panthers have their sights set on T.R. Hughes in early July, the home of the Class 3 state championship tournament.
