Season Outlook
The Fighting Irish will return seven position players and three pitchers with 15-plus innings in the 2015 season.  They look to get back the Class 3 Final Four, where they were crowned state champions in 2014.  The Irish will have three seniors leading the way.  INF Ben Rash, RHP/OF Austin Larson and 1B, Luke Shelangoski each earned All-District awards in 2015 and should provide a good nucleus this spring.  Springfield Catholic will also feature one of the top two-way players in the 2017 class, RHP/INF Mason Dickemann. Dickemann and Larson will provide the Irish with a 1-2 punch on the mound that will be tough on opponents and could mount a significant playoff run.  Prior to last year, Springfield Catholic had participated in three-of-four state championships.  There were a combined 98-14 over that span and look to keep the winning tradition going in 2016.
