7.1 Eastern Missouri Prospect ID Analysis: Outfielders

On Tuesday, July 1 at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, Prep Baseball Report held the Eastern Missouri Prospect ID.  Today we will analyze the outfielders, yesterday we took a look at the pitchers.  In the days to come we break down the infielders.

Top Prospect 

Colton Anderson (Seckman, OF, 2015)
Anderson is a strong, athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-hand hitting utility player. He ran a 60 at 7.09 and home-to-first 4.69. Colton throws from an over-the-top arm slot and has loose arm action. His throws were accurate and had good carry. His position velo was 72 MPH from the infield and 80 MPH from the outfield. Anderson has quick feet with a clean exchange. At the plate, Anderson has an athletic setup with a smooth load and excellent balance. He has explosive bat speed with an advanced approach. Colton produces gap-to-gap line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 82 MPH.

Cole Bornhop (Lutheran South, C, 2015)
Bornhop is an athletic 5-foot-10, 180-pound switch hitting catcher/utility player. He ran a 60 at 7.10 and home-to-first 4.40. Cole throws from a high ¾ arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had great life. His position velo was 80 MPH from the infield and outfield and 73 from catcher. Bornhop had a POP range of 1.95-2.10. At the plate, Bornhop has a balanced setup with a smooth load. He has good balance and a level bat path. Cole produces gap-to-gap line drives and has pop from both sides. He had an exit velo of 87 MPH.

Kyle Carpenter (St. Dominic, OF, 2015)
Carpenter is an athletic 6-foot-2, 170-pound left-hand hitting outfielder. He ran a 60 at 7.57 and home-to-first 4.60. Kyle throws from a high ¾ arm slot. His throws were accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 79 MPH from the infield and 80 from the outfield. Carpenter has fluid feet with a clean exchange and plays through the ball. At the plate, Carpenter has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a long stride. He has good balance and an advanced approach. Kyle produces line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 81 MPH.

Tyler Deck (Kirkwood, OF, 2015)
Deck is a strong, projectable 6-foot-3, 205-pound right-hand hitting outfielder. He ran a 60 at 7.58 and home-to-first 4.81. Tyler throws from an over-the-top arm slot and has long arm action. His throws were accurate and had good carry. His position velo was 82 MPH from the outfield. Deck has soft hands with a clean exchange. At the plate, Deck has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a short stride. He has good balance and a level bat path. Tyler produces line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 80 MPH.

Andrew Douglas (St Louis Patriots Home school, 2017) Douglas is an athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-hand hitting utility player. He ran a 60 at 7.56 and home-to-first 4.68. Andrew throws from an over-the-top arm slot. His throws were accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 79 MPH from the infield and 78 from the outfield. Douglas has fluid feet with a clean exchange. At the plate, Douglas has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a short stride. He has good balance and a level bat path. Andrew produces gap-to-gap line drives. He had an exit velo of 79 MPH.

Clayton Meyer (Northwest, OF, 2016)
Meyer is a strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-hand hitting utility player. He ran a 60 at 6.72 and home-to-first 4.46. Clayton throws from a high 3/4 arm slot and has short arm action. His throws were accurate and had some carry. His position velo was 69 MPH from the infield and 78 MPH from the outfield. Meyer has quick feet with a clean exchange. At the plate, Meyer has an athletic setup with a smooth load and a short stride. He has a level bat path. Clayton produces gap-to-gap line drives and has pull power. He had an exit velo of 76 MPH.
