On Tuesday, July 1 at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Missouri, Prep Baseball Report held the Eastern Missouri Prospect ID.  We will start with the pitchers analysis and in the days to come, look at the outfielders and infielders.

Top Prospects 

John Brinkman (SLUH, RHP, 2016)
Brinkman is a strong, projectable 5-foot-11, 205-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Brinkman has good rhythm throws with some effort. John keeps his shoulders level and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 77-82 MPH with run. His curveball was at 68-70 MPH with 11/5 tilt and sharp break. Brinkman had excellent command of a change-up that ranged from 70-73 with fastball arm speed and sink.

Kyle Carpenter (St. Dominic, LHP, 2015)
Carpenter is a lanky, athletic 6-foot-2, 170-pound left-handed pitcher. He has a ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Carpenter throws with regular effort. Kyle throws with level shoulders and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 75-79 MPH with run. His curveball was at 68-72 MPH with 2/8 tilt. Carpenter’s change-up ranged from 71-72 with near fastball arm speed and good sink.

Will Bausinger (Marquette, RHP, 2016)
Bausinger is a projectable, lanky 5-foot-10, 145-pound right-handed pitcher. Bausinger is a strike thrower that has a high ¾ delivery and quick arm speed. He has loose arm action and throws with easy effort. Will keeps his shoulders level and falls off in his finish a bit. He had a fastball velocity range of 77-78 MPH with good run. His curveball was at 60-65 MPH with 11/5 tilt and sharp break. Bausinger’s change-up ranged from 72-75 with good sink. Will has excellent arm action and his velocity will increase as he continues to fill out.  

Nicholas Chiapel
(De Smet, RHP, 2016)
Chiapel is a strong, athletic 5-foot-11, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery and quick arm speed. Chiapel has great balance through his delivery and throws with regular effort. Nicholas keeps his shoulders level, lands in-line, and he finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 71-75 MPH. His curveball was at 64-66 MPH with 12/6 tilt and late break. Chiapel’s change-up ranged from 65-68 with good sink. Nicholas threw a ton of strikes.

Andrew Douglas (St. Louis Patriots Home School, 2017)
Douglas is an athletic 5-foot-11, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery. Douglas has smooth rhythm and throws with regular effort. Andrew throws with level shoulders and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 76-79 MPH with run. His curveball was at 61-64 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Douglas’s change-up ranged from 69-73 with near fastball arm speed.

David Marshall (Lafayette, LHP, 2016)
Marshall is a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound left-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery with quick arm speed. Marshall has some rhythm throws with regular effort. David throws a little uphill and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 75-79 MPH with cut. His curveball was at 67-72 MPH with 12/6 tilt. Marshall’s change-up ranged from 71-73 with near fastball arm speed.

Billy Rice (CBC, RHP, 2016)
Rice is a strong 5-foot-9, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed. Rice has smooth rhythm, but throws across his body a bit. Billy stays closed and finishes in an athletic finish. He had a fastball velocity range of 76-81 MPH. His curveball was at 60-64 MPH with 11/5 tilt and sharp break. Rice’s change-up ranged from 71-73.

Noah Skaggs
(Potosi, LHP, 2016)
Skaggs is a lanky, projectable 6-foot-3, 165-pound left-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Skaggs has some rhythm and throws with some effort. Noah throws a little uphill and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 77-79 MPH. His curveball was at 61-63 MPH with 1/7 tilt. Skaggs’s change-up ranged from 66-68 with near fastball arm speed.

Garrett Steins (Lafayette, RHP, 2015)
Steins is a big, strong, projectable 6-foot-5, 230-pound left-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Skaggs has some rhythm and throws with some effort. Noah throws a little uphill and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 77-79 MPH. His curveball was at 61-63 MPH with 1/7 tilt. Skaggs’s change-up ranged from 66-68 with near fastball arm speed.
