On August 17 at the University of Central Missouri, Prep Baseball Report-Missouri held the Class of 2015 Prospect Games.  The event featured 60 of the top uncommitted players in the state. There were several two-way players (pitcher + position player) at this event, but keep in mind that the evaluations below are based on the pitching side only.

There were 28 pitchers that took the mound at the Class of 2015 games, including 3 left-handers. Many of the pitchers improved their stock with their performance at this event which will be reflected when we publish our next updated and expanded class of 2015 rankings later this month. Four players have already verbally committed since the event.

Colton Anderson (Seckman, RHP, 2015)
Anderson is an athletic 5-foot-10, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. Colton throws from a high ¾ arm slot with quick arm speed. He displays short arm action and throws with regular effort. His shoulders are a bit uphill and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 74-82 MPH. His curveball was at 70-72 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Colton’s change-up ranged from 65-71 with near fastball arm speed and sink. He also showed a slider at 72-73 MPH.

Wade Brewer (Kearney, RHP, 2015)
Brewer is an athletic 5-foot-11, 160-pound right-handed pitcher. Wade throws from an over-the-top arm slot with quick arm speed. He displays loose arm action and throws with easy effort. His shoulders are a bit uphill and lands square. Brewer finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 82-84 MPH. His curveball was at 69-72 MPH with 12/6 tilt and sharp/late break. Wade’s change-up ranged from 75-77 with near fastball arm speed and sink. He has a good feel for all of his pitches. In the game, Brewer tossed a solid inning. Brewer verbally committed to Lindenwood.

Mitchel Brown (St. Louis Patriots Homeschool, RHP, 2015)
Brown is a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with short arm action. Mitchel throws with easy effort and is slightly uphill. Brown had a fastball velocity range of 81-84 MPH. His curveball was at 69-73 MPH with 11/5 tilt with late break. Brown gets good deception with his delivery. He picked up 2 strikeouts during his outing. Brown committed to William Woods shortly after the event. 

Stephen Clark (Wentzville-Holt, LHP, 2015)
Clark is a strong 6-foot-0, 200-pound left-handed pitcher. He comes from a ¾ arm slot. Stephen throws with some rhythm and easy effort. He had a fastball velocity range of 75-78 MPH with some run. His curveball was at 61-65 MPH with 1/7 tilt. Clark’s change-up ranged from 72-73 with near fastball arm speed and fadeL

Dalton Erger (Seckman, RHP, 2015)
Erger a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a ¾ delivery with quick arm speed and loose arm action. Dalton throws with easy effort and keeps his shoulders level. Erger had a fastball velocity range of 82-86 MPH with good down angle. His curveball was at 71-74 MPH with 11/5 tilt and late action. Dalton also displayed a change-up that ranged from 75-78 MPH with near fastball arm speed and great command. He worked a quick inning and was a strike pumper during the game.

Collin Fraley (Ozark, RHP, 2015)
Fraley is a strong 6-foot-0, 192-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed. Collin throws with some effort and stays in-line with the target. Fraley had a fastball velocity range of 83-84 MPH. His curveball was at 69-73 MPH with 12/6 tilt and late, sharp break. Collin also displayed a change-up that ranged from 75-76 MPH with near fastball arm speed and good sink.

Kyle Francis (Park Hill, RHP, 2015)
Francis is a strong 6-foot-3 230-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ arm slot with quick arm speed. He gets good run on his heavy fastball with a velocity range of 81-84 MPH. Kyle showed a 11-to-5 curveball with late break at 71-74 MPH. He throws a 70-74 MPH change-up at near fastball arm speed with some sink. Francis pounds the strike zone and has good command of all pitches. He dominated hitters in his appearance with 4 strikeouts.

Nic Gauspohl (Timberland, OF, 2015)
Gauspohl is a wiry, athletic 6-foot-0, 155-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed with loose arm action. Nic throws with regular effort and stays in-line with the target. Gauspohl had a fastball velocity range of 77-82 MPH. His curveball was at 66-70 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Nic also displayed a change-up that ranged from 71-72 with near fastball arm speed.

Michael Gray (Stoutland, RHP, 2015)
Gray is a wiry, athletic 5-foot-11, 150-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery. Michael throws with regular effort and throws strikes. He had a fastball velocity range of 71-77 MPH. His curveball was at 65-68 MPH with 12/6 tilt. Michael also displayed a change-up that ranged from 62-64 with near fastball arm speed. Gray established his fastball and had great mound presence, during the game.

Ethan Griswold (Liberty, RHP, 2015)
Griswold is a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound Griswold.  He has a high ¾ delivery and long, loose arm action. Ethan throws with easy effort and has smooth rhythm. Griswold had a fastball velocity range of 83-88 MPH with. His curveball was at 74-76 MPH with 11/5 tilt with sharp break. Ethan also displayed a change-up at 81 MPH with near fastball arm speed.

Chase Hagerty (Cape Central, RHP, 2015)
8/17/14 – Hagerty is a projectable 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Chase throws with easy effort, has short arm action, and stays level with his shoulders. Hagerty had a fastball velocity range of 83-88 MPH with run and sink. His curveball was at 72-73 MPH with 12/6 tilt and late/sharp break. Chase also displayed a splitter that was at 78 MPH with near fastball arm speed and good sink. Hagerty verbally committed to Southeast Missouri shortly after the event.

Alex Hanft (Sekcman, RHP, 2015)
Hanft is a projectable 6-foot-2, 180-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ arm slot with quick arm action. Alex throws with regular effort and sis alittle uphill with histays level with his shoulders. Hanft had a fastball velocity range of 81-84 MPH. His curveball was at 61-63 MPH with 11/5 tilt and late break. Alex also displayed a change-up and a knuckleball that ranged from 72-73 with some movement. During the game, Alex threw strikes, worked quick, and kept hitters off balance.

Patrick Hoerning (Nixa, RHP, 2015)
Hoerning is a wiry athletic 5-foot-11, 152-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high 3/4 delivery and short arm action. Patrick throws with regular effort and is little uphill. Hoerning had a fastball velocity range of 80-82 MPH. His curveball was at 62-64 MPH with 12/6 tilt. Patrick also displayed a change-up that ranged from 76-79 with near fastball arm speed. He’s a strike thrower and keeps hitters off balance with his off-speed pitches. He has a bit if deception in his delivery.

John Hughes (Alton Marquette (IL), RHP, 2015)
Hughes is a strong, athletic 6-foot-2, 195-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery and quick arm speed. John throws with regular effort and is a little uphill. Hughes had a fastball velocity range of 77-82 MPH. His curveball was at 63-64 MPH. John also displayed a change-up that ranged from 70-71 with near fastball arm speed.

Spencer Juergens (Borgia, RHP, 2015)
Juergens is a highly projectable 6-foot-4, 200-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery and quick arm action. Spencer throws with easy effort, keeps his shoulders level, and lands square to the target. Juergens had a fastball velocity range of 85-87 MPH with hard action and run. His spike curveball was at 68-72 MPH with 12/6 tilt with late break. Spencer also displayed a change-up that ranged from 72-75 with near fastball arm speed and good sink. He’s a strike thrower and attacks hitters. He racked up 2 K’s and worked easy, during his outing.

Adam Lafferty (Rock Bridge, RHP, 2015)
Lafferty is a projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery and quick arm action. Adam throws with regular effort, smooth rhythm, and finishes in an athletic position. Lafferty had a fastball velocity range of 82-84 MPH with run. His slider was at 75-76 MPH with 10/4 tilt. Adam also displayed a change-up that ranged from 77-78 with near fastball arm speed and good sink. He’s a strike thrower. He works quick and attacks hitters. He racked up 2 K’s during his outing.

Colton Larkins (Blue Springs South, LHP, 2015)
Larkins is a projectable 6-foot-2, 165-pound left-handed pitcher. He has a ¾ delivery and loose arm action. Colton throws with easy effort, has very good rhythm, and stays level with his shoulders. Colton had a fastball velocity range of 76-78 MPH with sink. His curveball was at 66-67 MPH with 1/7 tilt. Larkins also displayed a change-up that ranged from 67-69 MPH with near fastball arm speed and great command. He attacked the strike zone in his outing. He finished with a strikeout and looked very comfortable.

Michael Marra (Lee’s Summit North, RHP, 2015)
Marra is an athletic 6-foot-1, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed with short arm action. Michael throws with regular effort and stays level with his shoulders. Marra had a fastball velocity range of 83-85 MPH. His curveball was at 73-74 MPH with 12/6 tilt and sharp break. He threw a slider at 77-78 MPH. Michael also displayed a change-up that ranged from 78-80 with near fastball arm speed with sink. He picked up 1 strikeout during his outing.

Jacob Mitchell (Mountain Grove, RHP, 2015)
Mitchell is a strong 6-foot-1, 195-pound right-handed pitcher.  He has a high ¾ delivery and throws with regular effort. He stays in line with the target and finishes in an athletic position. He had a fastball velocity range of 79-86 MPH. His curveball was at 70-71 MPH with 12/6 tilt with late break. Jacob also displayed a change-up at 74 at near fastball arm speed and sink.

Isaac Norsic (Hillcrest, RHP, 2015)
8/17/14 – Norsic is a strong 6-foot-1, 225-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed and short action. Isaac throws with regular effort and is slightly uphill. Norsic had a fastball velocity range of 79-84 MPH. His curveball was at 67-71 MPH with 12/6 tilt and late/sharp break. Isaac also displayed a change-up that ranged from 76-77 with near fastball

Elijah Patterson (Park Hill South, RHP, 2015)
Patterson is a highly projectable 6-foot-3, 190-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with quick arm speed. Eli throws with regular effort, has smooth rhythm, and stays in-line with the target. Patterson had a fastball velocity range of 82-86 MPH with a heavy ball. His curveball was at 71-75 MPH with 11/5 tilt and late action. Eli also displayed a change-up that ranged from 72-73 MPH with near fastball arm speed. He worked a quick inning and was a strike pumper during the game. Patterson committed to Lindenwood shortly after the event.

Jamison Raines (Fort Osage, RHP, 2015)
Raines is a projectable 6-foot-3, 175-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a ¾ delivery with quick arm speed and short arm action. Jamison throws with regular effort and stays in-line with the target. He had a fastball velocity range of 75-82 MPH with run. His curveball was at 64-69 MPH with 10/4 tilt. Jamison’s change-up ranged from 73-75 with near fastball arm speed.

Jordan Robben (Staley, RHP, 2015)
Robben is a projectable 6-foot-2, 185-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery with loose arm action. Jordan throws with easy effort and stays in-line with the target. Robben had a fastball velocity range of 84-87 MPH with good down angle. His curveball was at 71-72 MPH with 11/5 tilt. Robben also throws a change-up at 73-75 MPH with good sink. He picked up 1 strikeout during his outing.

Jared Robbins (Rockhurst, RHP, 2015)
Robbins is an athletic 6-foot-0, 170-pound right-handed pitcher. He has an over-the-top delivery and quick arm speed with short arm action. Jared throws with easy effort and keeps his shoulders lever through his delivery. Robbins had a fastball velocity range of 83-87 MPH. His curveball was at 63-66 MPH with 12/6 tilt and late/sharp break. Jared also displayed a change-up that ranged from 74-77 with near fastball arm speed. He tallied 2 strikeouts during his outing in the game.

Bryan Stewart (Lebanon, RHP, 2015)
8/17/14 – Stewart is a strong 6-foot-1, 176-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery. Bryan throws with regular effort and stays in-line with the target. Stewart had a fastball velocity range of 74-83MPH. His curveball was at 65-70 MPH with 10/4 tilt. Stewart has a deceptive delivery and picked up one strikeout in his outing.

Joseph Tieman (St. Joseph Central, LHP, 2015)
Tieman is a highly projectable 6-foot-1, 170-pound left-handed pitcher. He throws from a ¾ delivery with quick arm speed and loose arm action. Joseph throws with easy effort and has a repeatable release point. Tieman had a fastball velocity range of 78-80 MPH with run and sink. His curveball was at 65-68 MPH with 1/7 tilt and sharp break. Joseph also displayed a change-up that ranged from 68-70 MPH with near fastball arm speed and good sink. He had a great outing displaying command of all 3 pitches. He’s a strike pumper.

Bradey Welsh (Marshfield, RHP, 2015)
Welsh is a strong, athletic 6-foot-1, 155-pound right-handed pitcher. He has a high ¾ delivery and lightning quick arm speed. Bradey throws with regular effort, has smooth rhythm, and stays level with his shoulders. Welsh had a fastball velocity range of 87-90 MPH with run and sink. His curveball was at 72-76 MPH with 11/5 tilt and late break. Bradey also displayed a splitter that ranged from 77-78 MPH with near fastball arm speed and good sink.
