Although the recruiting process is just beginning for Dylan MacKay (Blue Springs, 2016), the development process is well underway.  Over the course of numerous PBR events, the 5-foot-10, 140-pound left-hander continues to show ability finding the ball off the bat and moving fluidly to the ball with athletic actions. MacKay recently showed off his skills at the PBR Underclass Showcase on January, 4 in Overland Park, Kansas.

MacKay's fastball has increased to the mid-70s and his position velocity is 75 mph.  At the plate, the left handed hitting MacKay has a line drive approach, showing ability to hit the ball to the opposite field. His exit velocity is at 83 mph.

As MacKay prepares for his sophomore year at Blue Springs High School, he has some goals in mind.  "My goals for my Sophomore season are to compete for a varsity spot and add weight/strength. In doing so I want to increase my extra base hits and stolen bases," says MacKay.

Last season for the Wildcats freshman and JV team, MacKay batted .429 with a .564 on-base percentage and 18 stolen bases in 56 plate appearances.  He plays for the Mac-N-Seitz Royals during the summer, and doubles up in the fall playing football for the Wildcats.  He sports a 3.81 GPA and has taken the ACT just once, scoring a 20.

He plans on attending Prospect Camps at Creighton, Kansas State, Wichita State and Central Missouri in the near future.  As MacKay continues to add strength and speed, he will a good player to follow in the state.
