Logan Wiley (Kickapoo, 2015) Commits to Kansas State

Logan Wiley (Kickapoo, 2015) recently announced his commitment to Kansas State.  The 6-foot 155-pound RHP was considering offers from Ohio State and Missouri State before he chose to make Kansas State his home.

Wiley has spent the last three summers playing for Coach Dave Bingham and the Midwest Nationals. He played several times in Manhattan and had an up-close look at the Wildcat program.

"I like the Big 12 Conference, and KSU has a solid program with a good tradition. But, the coaches were the biggest reason I chose Kansas State," Wiley mentioned about his commitment.

Wiley started doing PBR Events as a freshman and was selected to the Midwest Futures game last August. He recorded two strike-outs in the 7th inning of a 2-2 tie against a powerful team from Ohio.  He began to gain interest from Division I programs.

"I played in front of a lot of college scouts at the Midwest Futures Games in Indiana.  It was a  great event for exposure and I started getting a lot of contact after that," Wiley stated.

Wiley is preparing for his junior year at Kickapoo High School in Springfield, Missouri. Although the Chiefs will young this year, they should be a tough team to beat in 2014. Especially, with Wiley on the mound. He is lifting three times a week, working out with the Nationals off-season program and taking pitching lessons.

"Always work hard in-season, but work harder in the off-season.  The off-season is where you make your biggest strides," says Wiley.

Wiley will definitely be a player to watch over the next two seasons for Kickapoo and the Nationals. Wiley led Kickapoo to a 16-12 record as a sophomore.  He was 7-2 last season for the Chiefs.
