Scouting Report:
Buckner is a 6-foot 180-pound right-handed pitcher in the 2017 class.  Buckner showed to be one of the top pitchers at the Underclass Games on June 9, hitting 87 mph with his fastball, working 85-86 mph. Buckner's fastball has late life released from  ahigh three-quarters arm slot. He has clean arm action, and repeatable delivery. Buckner threw a high percentage of strikes with his change up and breaking pitch.  His curveball is 68-71 mph, 11-to-5 shape,  with fastball arm speed, has late action and sharp movement down in zone.  Buckner's change-up is 73-76 mph,  with late arm side release.

This spring, Buckner was 5-0 for the Rams, recording 41 strikeouts in 47 innings of work, walking just nine batters. He threw a perfect game in a 2-0 win over Parkway West on March 25.  Buckner fanned six batters at went 1-for-2 with an RBI at the plate.

The Future Games will take place on July 30 - Aug 1 (Thursday-Saturday) at Grand Park, a state-of-the-art 22-field baseball complex located in Westfield, IN, just north of Indianapolis. The Prep Baseball Report Future Games is the premier summer scouting event for Class of 2017 prospects and select 2018 prospects. Last year, more than 110 colleges from all over the country were in attendance.
