Josh Scribner (Raymore-Peculiar, 2015) is a 6-foot 195-pound Catcher.  Scribner had a notable day at the Class of 2015 Prospect Games on August 17.  Scribner collected three hits in four plate appearances, two hits were extra base hits.  He showed and upward trend in just about all other categories as well, posting pop times between 1.90 and 2.00.  He ran a 4.45 home to first and had an exit velo of 89 MPH.

Scribner led the Panthers to an appearance in the District Championship last year, before they suffered a season ending loss to Lee's Summit West.  He batted .232 with 21 RBI and was named All-Conference Honorable Mention.  He will be playing for 68 Inside Sports this fall.

Below is a look at Scribner's recruiting process.

PBR: What schools have expressed interest in you?

Scribner: Pitt State University, University of Central Missouri, Jefferson College, and Rockhurst University have recently expressed interest in me.

PBR: Have you taken any visits, or have any visits scheduled in the near future? If so, what schools, and how recently?

Scribner: I have a visit scheduled with Pitt State in October. I am in the process of scheduling visits with the other schools of interest.

PBR: Are you looking for anything in particular in a school? (Example: high academics, certain academic program, local, etc.)

Scribner: I am looking for a school with strong academics that is also able to offer a great baseball experience.

PBR: Raymore-Peculiar drew a tough district bracket in 2014.  Recap your high school season, individually as a team.

Scribner: Our season started off rough, but we were able to pull it together and win 9 of our last 11 games. Our district was extremely difficult and it seemed like we always got everybody’s best when we played them. We had a tough loss to Lee’s Summit West in the District Championship, but overall it was a great season. The best part of the season was spreading Rockhurst in Districts after they had beaten us twice during the season.

Individually, I hit .323 with 21 RBI and was an All-Conference Honorable Mention.

PBR: What are you goals for your senior season at Raymore Peculiar?

Scribner: My goal for senior year is to contribute the best I can to the team as a leader and as a player. My team goal is for us to win state because we have a lot of senior talent with a good group of underclassmen.

PBR: What travel team do you play for? Are you playing fall ball with a team?

Scribner: I will be playing for the 68 Inside Sports Cavaliers in the fall and summer.

PBR: Do you play any other sports?

Scribner: No, I only play baseball.

PBR: What are your ACT and GPA?

Scribner: I have a 32 ACT score and a 4.33 GPA.
