Q&A with Super 60 Participant: SS Jeremy Eierman (Warsaw, 2015, Missouri State)

Shon Plack
Missouri Scouting Director

Jeremy Eierman (Warsaw, 2015) attended the Super 60 on February 1, and had an excellent showing, putting up some of the top numbers of the event.  The Missouri State commit ran a 6.68-second 60 while producing a 94-mph exit velo. He has strong forearms and had a couple good rounds of BP, making loud contact. He also has a strong arm in the infield, throwing 90 across the diamond.

Eierman is currently preparing for his senior season at Warsaw HS and looking to follow in his brother's footsteps, who was a third-round pick in the 2011 draft.  Jeremy will be a player watch in the June Draft, as his stock will continue to rise.  PBR-Missouri had the chance to catch up with Eierman and ask him about his performance in Chicago.

PBR: The Super 60 is a big event for senior prospects in the Midwest with dozens of scouts attending every year. What was your mental approach going into the event knowing a lot of eyes would be on you and that it was very early in the season?

Eierman: My mental approach was to relax, not try to overdue things and have fun!

PBR: After you finished your workout, what were your immediate thoughts about your performance?

Eierman: I felt pretty good about everything, I was next up to run the 60 again and wish I could've ran that again and been more selective during BP but I wasn't in mid season form, all around I felt good.

PBR: Was there anything about your performance that you wish had gone better or were you satisfied with it overall?

Eierman: I was pretty satisfied with everything, but I think I could've done everything a little better honestly.

PBR: What are your expectations for yourself in your final high school season?

Eierman: My expectations are to lead my team to a state championship, and do all I can to help my team get there.

PBR: All prospects your age still have some improvements to make. You’re still maturing physically and will naturally be adding strength, but what are some of the finer points of your game or arsenal that you feel like you need to work on to continue progressing to the next level?

Eierman: I intend on improving every part of my game, and now that I'm concentrating just on baseball I feel like I can accomplish that.

PBR: What drew you to committing to Missouri State?

Eierman: I really like the coaches, facilities are great, I have some friends already playing down there, and I think with everybody that's gonna be there we will have a really good team.

PBR: Is there a hitter, whether it’s a big leaguer or someone you have played with, that you really look up to and like to model your game after?

Eierman: I don't really model my swing after any big leaguer. But I like the way Josh Donaldson swings it!
